"Oh, Spot, I was supposed to ask you, why haven't you been calling or texting Race lately?" Katherine asked.
"OH, right, I broke my phone and had to get a new one, I'll write my new number down and you can give it to him when you see him next," Spot got a pen and paper out of a drawer in the coffee table, ripped a tiny piece of the paper, and wrote his phone number down on it.
"Oh, that's a relief, he's been so worried that you stopped liking him or something," Katherine chuckled.
"How could I stop liking Race?" Spot folded the paper and handed it to Katherine, "well, how did I start liking him in the first place is the real question, but I decided not to think too much about that,"
Katherine put the paper in her phone case so she wouldn't lose it, "Race is going to be so happy about this,"
"I know," Spot nodded and went to his room.
Katherine sat on the couch and started messing around on her phone. Dean was at work and Carmen was out running errands, so the kids had the house to themselves. Katherine video called Sarah and waited for her to answer.
"Hey, Kat," Sarah had her phone balanced against a lamp while she was working on something, "I was just about to text you and ask you if you could come over to my house when you got home, I want to take some measurements so I can make you a dress,"
"That sewing kit I got you is being put into good use, I see," Katherine chuckled.
"Oh, I have to show you the fabric I bought," Sarah held up a purple shiny fabric, "I saw it and thought of you, and even better, it was on sale,"
"Nice," Katherine nodded.
"I'm going to try something a little different with it, I hope you don't mind," Sarah shrugged, "it's going to have sleeves like on Belle's dress but is otherwise going to be like Aurora's dress, except it's going to be knee-length,"
"Ooh, sounds pretty," Katherine smiled, "I'm so excited,"
"And you're totally wearing it to prom by the way," Sarah added, "and I'll need a picture to go with my college application. I'm making a dress for Vivian as well,"
"Well someone's going to be busy, isn't your college application due in just a few weeks?" Katherine pointed out.
"It's due by the end of January, I can do this," Sarah smiled, "You want to see Vivian's dress? I'm almost finished with it, see it has like Cinderella sleeves, this little ribbon thing like Rapunzel, and it'll go down to mid-shins,"
"You base all of your creations on Disney Princesses, don't you?" Katherine put two and two together.
"With a little modern twist, look at this fun star pattern I'm using for the skirt," Sarah held the fabric in front of the camera, "Vivian picked it out,"
"That's super fun," Katherine smiled, "am I the only one who thinks it's super weird that I'm 17 now?"
"It'll be just a year until you're a legal adult like me," Sarah continued work on the dress she was sewing, "oh my gosh would you look at the time? I need to go,"
"Go? Go where?" Katherine questioned.
"I've walking my neighbor's dog while she's at work during the week, I might start a dog-walking business," Sarah shrugged, she set down her sewing project and started getting snow clothes on, "I mean if I earn 15 dollars to take one dog on a one-hour walk five days a week, if I'm walking... let's say four dogs a day, that'll be around... let's see, fifteen times four is sixty, sixty times five... like three hundred bucks a week, which is not bad at all,"
