"Are you sure your sister is okay with me coming with you, Dave?" Jack was tagging along with Davey to go check on Sarah and Katherine's cat.

"I told you, it's totally fine," Davey got the key to the apartment out of his pocket and looked at the number on it, "okay, it's... this one," he unlocked the door and opened it, "you're going to love Felix, he's the sweetest cat ever,"

The two of them entered the apartment and closed the door behind them as to not let the cat escape.

"Felix, where are you?" Davey turned a light on.

"Nice place," Jack looked around, he could see almost the entire apartment from where he was standing.

"Oh, there he is," Davey crossed the room to the miniature kitchen area, Felix was pressed against the side of the minifridge, absorbing the heat. Davey kneeled down and gently scratched the top of the cat's head.

"He's a tiny cat, isn't he?" Jack observed.

"Well, he is just a kitten," Davey reminded him.

"How'd Kath and Sarah think up a name like Felix?" Jack chuckled.

"Well, the Latin word for cat is Felis, and Felix is pretty close to that," Davey picked up the cat and stood up, "I can't argue with that logic,"

"So, do we gotta feed him or something?" Jack asked.

"Yeah, you hold him while I get him food and water," Davey handed Felix over to Jack, "his food and water bowls are... right here," he picked up the small bag of food and poured some into the bowl, "Sarah told me I have to get water from the bathroom sink, so I'll be right back,"

When he got back, Jack was sitting on the small couch in the room, the cat was curled up on his lap.

"I see you've bonded with Felix," Davey set the water bowl down and went to sit next to Jack.

"He's purring," Jack whispered, "I'm not usually a cat person but OH my goodness,"

"Well maybe next time Sarah and Katherine need a catsitter, you can volunteer," Davey smiled.

"Do we really have to leave? I feel like we'd make Felix upset," Jack pet the cat's back.

"We don't have to leave YET," Davey looked at the time, "we're actually supposed to stay and play with him for a while, he has a basket of cat toys here," Davey took a blue stuffed rat out of the basket and held it in front of Felix's face. Felix reached up a paw and pulled the toy towards himself. He batted it around for a few minutes before apparently getting bored and walking away.

"No!" Jack frowned, "aw, man!"

"Looks like he's done with us now, ready to leave?" Davey asked.

"I guess so," Jack shrugged, "Sarah didn't ask you to take over dog-walking for her, did she?"

"No, she got a different friend to do that," Davey shook his head.

"Alright," Jack nodded, "want to head to my house and watch a show or something?"

"I have to go home, my mom needs my help with something," Davey sighed, "maybe next time,"

"Oh, okay," Jack looked down at the ground, "I've probably got some holiday shopping to do, December's just a hop, skip, and jump away,"

"Alright, then," Davey got in the passenger seat of Jack's car.

"You want to give me some ideas of what to get for you?" Jack questioned.

"You don't have to get me anything," Davey shrugged, "my family doesn't usually do gifts this time of year,"
