"Crutchie told us what you did, you two are such rebels," Maine sat across from Jack and Davey at lunch on Monday, "did you ever get caught,"

"Nope, Medda's none the wiser," Jack smirked, "but I have to say, that was the best birthday ever,"

"You promised to tell us everything!" Katherine reminded them.

"There's not much to tell, we just had lunch and then got caught in the rain for a bit, then we went to my house and watched an episode of The Flash, then I went and helped Davey tidy up his room, which Katherine already knows," Jack shrugged.

"Yeah, I overheard you chatting in there," Katherine smiled, "but come on, more details! What did you talk about? What did you do while caught in the rain?"

"We just talked about things we've been up to, and when it started raining we competed to splash each other with puddles," Davey chuckled, "there wasn't much to it,"

"The only people who really care are the girls, anyways," Race rolled his eyes, "oh, Katherine I have something I want you to give to Spot next time you see him," he got a little piece of paper out of his pocket and handed it to Katherine, "I think it's about time,"

"Is this your phone number?" Katherine questioned.

"Yeah, please don't lose it before it gets to Spot," Race pleaded.

"I'm just going to say it, I don't think this is a good idea," Jack told him, "I mean, he ripped your heart out last time you were with him, it took this long to get you off you-know-what,"

"I don't think he was in the wrong, you can't hold a relationship on six months of nothing," Race shrugged, "and it was twice that before we saw each other. I think I was just being too clingy. We were both new to relationship business, and we've both learned from our mistakes, I think it's time for take two, if Spot agrees,"

"Alright, fine," Jack sighed, "if you're that serious about it,"

"Plus, it's like you said, he ripped my heart out, so now he's gotta put it back," Race half-joked.

"I'll go to my mom's house after school today and give this to Spot, I won't lose it, promise," Katherine put the paper in her coat pocket and zipped it in.

"Great, thanks," Race smiled.

Katherine didn't want to let Spot and Race down again, so she had the paper on her mind for the rest of the day, checking every so often that it was still in her pocket. She partially blamed herself that the boys broke up, she wanted to partially be the reason they got back together.

When school ended, she wasted no time driving into Brooklyn and to her mom's house.

"Katherine, what are you doing here?" Carmen greeted her at the door, "I don't usually see you on weekdays, is something wrong?"

"No, I just have something for Spot, is he home?" Katherine asked.

"Yeah, he should be in his room," Carmen stepped aside and let her daughter in, "Spot, Katherine says she has something for you!"

"I'll be right there," Spot couldn't imagine what Katherine could have possibly brought for him. He finished up a problem on his math homework and left his room.

"Okay, Race wanted me to give... this to you," Katherine got the paper out of her pocket, thankful she still had it.

Spot looked at the paper and recognized Race's messy handwriting, "Is this Race's phone number?"

"Yeah," Katherine smiled, "he... really wants to talk to you about something,"

Spot tried to mask his excitement, "Uh, thanks, but I... I'll just go finish up my homework and stuff," he went back to his room.
