Other than the now daily "London Bridge" shenanigans by the Delancey brothers, Maine was able to have a considerably good day. Since September was over halfway done, Halloween was about to become the topic of conversation.

Maine was practically shaking with excitement as she walked to her mom's classroom after school, she couldn't wait to make friendship bracelets with Ella!

"Maine, calm down, you're WAY too excitable!" Molly told Maine as she emptied the turn in bins and put the papers in her school bag to grade over the weekend.

"Mom, do you still speak in a false American accent in class?" Maine asked.

"Yes, yes I do," Molly nodded.

"Well, why? And why do you go by Ms. J and not Ms. Jameson?" Maine tilted her head.

"Well, I don't want other students to associate you with me, I thought it would be embarrassing," Molly shrugged.

"It's not embarrassing, I LOVE having a teacher for a mom, I'm PROUD to have a teacher for a mom, almost a proud as I am to be Ace/aro," Maine told her.

"No, I mean embarrassing for ME," Molly joked.

Maine rolled her eyes, "Oh, ha-ha, you're VERY funny,"

"Some on, Maine-ster, you have homework to do and a table to clean off," Molly took Maine out to their  2003 Subaru Outback, "I've noticed you being a little more... or, a little less confident lately,"

"I'm fine," Maine promised.

"Nothing's going on?" Molly put her school bag in the back seat with Maine.

"I never said that," Maine shook her head, "I just said I'm fine,"

"Oh..." Molly awkwardly got into the drivers seat, "if something was going on, why didn't you tell me?"

"Because, I'm fine, I'm handling it," Maine repeated.

"Well, if you tell me I might be able to help," Molly told her.

"I don't need help," Maine had more of a scared tone than the angry tone one might expect.

"Um... okay then," Molly was silent the rest of the drive home. Maine hurried to her room and started her homework as quickly (but as accurately) as possible.

"Hey, Maine-Brain," Charlene entered the room.

"Hi, grandma," Maine looked up at her.

"What homework do you have today?" Charlene looked at Maine's paper.

"Pre-algebra, history, language arts, and science," Maine replied.

"Well, if you need any help with history, ask me, I was QUITE the history expert back in my school days," Charlene pretended to check her nails.

"Oh, I already finished history, decided to knock that one out first since it's my least favorite," Maine shrugged.

Charlene turned around, "Molly, we need to disown your daughter,"

"What did she do this time?" Molly called from her bedroom.

"She says history is her least favorite subject," Charlene put her hands on her hips.

"She can stay as long as she likes science," Molly chuckled.

"Molly Elizabeth Jameson, I am your mother, what I say goes," Charlene argued.

"I'm almost thirty, I can make my own decisions," Molly came into the room in a black and white striped knee-length short-sleeve dress and simple make-up (eyeliner, mascara, and simple blush).
