After lunch, the day picked up and we got in a bunch of patients that seemed to come out of nowhere. I had a patient, Leo had a patient, and so did Caine. He was nice enough to stay and help us out, even if he technically was no longer in charge. We worked and worked until close, and then I went home. I was happy to know that Brandi was cooking her famous, mouth watering Fajitas tonight, and boy was I starving.

"Hey Ellie, how was work?" Asked Evan as he came into the living room, sitting next to me on the couch

"Hey Evan. Work was good... you'll never guess what happened."

His eyes brightened and he leaned in with with excited energy.

"Tell me girl, all of the details." He said, hurrying me along

"Well for starters ,Caine is leaving."

"Aww honey, where is he going? Because I know you really got attached to him." Evan asked me

"Texas-"

"WHAT!? Damn, I was so about to make my move on him!" I heard Brandi yell from the kitchen.

So, no wonder Brandi always wanted to tag along with me or swing by to 'bring me lunch' sometimes. I thought those two had a thing going on! Well, I guess it should've occurred to me when I one time I saw those two kissing. I never left that office so fast before.

"Brandi, the man is in his forty's! Girl, find someone your age!" Evan yelled back

Brandi peeked her head from out of the kitchen.

"Hey, the heart wants what the heart wants." She said dramatically.

"Hey, you know what my heart wants?" Evan asked her

"What?" She asked

"Dinner. Chop Chop."

Brandi grabbed a pillow off of the closest couch and threw it at him. He deflected it and turned back to me.

"Now that the Brandi and Evan show is over-"

"Heard that!" She yelled from the kitchen

"-- I can get back to my story. Yes Caine is leaving but that's not all that I have to say."

"Well what else is there?"

"Well... when we went to club Caged on Friday, I bumped into this guy."

"Uhuh." He said, starting to get excited

"Well.... guess who's the practice's new therapist in charge."

"The guy from the club?"

"Bingo."

"Yo, you mean Mr. tall, dark, and handsome!?" I heard Amber say as she came into the room

"Yes." I said quietly and a bit embarrassed

"AHHHH!" Brandi squealed "Mami,this has fate written all over it! What are the odds that a guy you met at a club would be Caine's replacement!? Honestly, you don't see how great this is?" She asked, still amped

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, calm down girl, it's not like we're boyfriend and girlfriend-"

"Yet." Amber interjected, cutting me off

"Yeah. Yet. Come on Ellie, please don't think that this isn't a sign." Evan said, putting in his 2 cents

"Guys, Guys! Just chill, everyone. He's just this dude that I met at a club that will now be my boss. What's the big deal?"
