The next day was a quiet one. I got up as usual, did my routine, and dressed in my normal bland attire.

I slipped out of the house quickly and quietly. Thankfully no one was up so I didn't have to face the music and sing the Apology Song just yet.

When I parked in my space, I walked into the building heading straight for the elevators. When I stepped out onto my floor, I was surprised (and not) to see Brandi with the guiltiest look of the world on her face sashaying from our office. She smiled widely at me when she saw me

"Hey Ells." She said a little too giddy

I just knew it was weird not to see her car in the parking lot this morning.

Mhm, she thought she was slick.

"Nice session Brandi." I heard Caine practically purr

I cleared my throat loudly to make sure he knew I was here.

"Oh, uh, h-hi Ellie. How are you this morning?" Caine asked, his tanned skin taking on a red tint as if he had been sunburned.

"Oh I'm pretty good. I see you're saying your proper goodbyes?" I remarked as I set my stuff down.

"Sure.... you could say that." He replied, clearing his throat nervously

I smiled to myself as I unpacked for the day.

"I'll uh...I'll call you tonight." Brandi chimed

I hadn't even known that she was still here.

"Will do." Caine said strained

I saw her smile embarrassed and then she looked over at me.

"Could I talk to you for a second Els?" She asked me

"Sure."

Excusing myself, I followed Brandi towards the elevators and she pulled me to the side.

"Are you okay? You know.... from last night."

"I'm fine. I'm sorry for blowing up at you guys like that."

My eyes suddenly filled with tears. Ugh I hated feeling like this.

"It's okay Girlie, you know we love you."

"A little too much." I laughed, wiping my eyes

She hugged me suddenly and I hugged her back.

"Anytime you need to talk do not hesitate to come to my room and talk okay? I'm here for you." She said as she let go

"Thanks Brandi."

"No problem. Look, keep an eye on Caine for me would ya?" She smirked

I laughed softly and looked towards her as the elevator reached our floor.

"I will."

She smiled once more and then got onto the elevator. I walked back to the office and saw Caine gathering up some papers.

"You know, even if you weren't leaving, I would be cool with you guys seeing each other. There's no need to sneak around like a couple of teens." I said with a smirk, turning my back towards my desk.

I heard a chuckle and then a clatter and pour as I heard hot coffee hit his coffee mug.

"It's not fun if we don't sneak around. Besides, Brandi is the one that always comes to me. I try being a gentleman."

"You are so lying." I teased

He started laughing as I turned back around.

"Okay, so a gentleman can only be a gentlemen for so long. But come on Ellie, I am 40 years old and she is a nice, 20 year old with a hot, tight bo-"
