"morning sunshine!" jax said as JJ and bentley walked into the kitchen together, bentley only grunting an "mmh" in response.

"good morning, JJ. i didn't know you were staying over last night?" bentleys mom said, while tilting her head towards bentley as she cooked breakfast

"sorry mom i was meant to come ask you but it was late and i figured you would already be asleep" bentley spoke.

"i'm sorry, mrs tate. i just needed to stay somewhere for the night" JJ shrugged

"don't stress it, kid. you're always welcome here JJ. and please, you've been here enough to know not to call me mrs tate. it makes me feel old. it's lydia to you" she smiled.

"good morning family! and JJ" bentleys dad said as he stood next to the counter, reaching over to shake JJs hand.

"how are ya holding up kid. haven't seen you around here as often. unless you two are sneaking around behind my back?" he spoke.

"dad, really?" bentley scoffed

"i'm just joking, kiddo" he smiled as he walked over to the dining table.

after breakfast, JJ and bentley chilled in the living room while waiting for the john b, kie and pope to arrive at some point since they all couldn't text eachother sicne the power was out because of the hurricane.

"why are there three clowns skipping around my back yard?" bentley heard her dad speak from his office across from the living room, seeing him stand against the doorframe to look out over the balcony to the grass.

bentley and JJ got up to see their friends headed up the steps and headed to the door.

"ding dong!" john b spoke as he opened the sliding door.

"mr tate! my favourite guy! how are ya doing!" john b spoke with a smile on his face.

"come right in, why don't ya!" her dad chuckled, watching the three come in.

"can we steal your daughter and this stray kid for the day!?" john b asked

"of course, it's summer! do whatever you please but don't get into trouble. her mom would kill me before you all" he said with a smile before returning to his office.

bentley went back to her room to change into a bikini covered by some flowy black shorts and a tight white crop top with small straps then followed the friends back out to the boat.

JJ and bentley sat at the head of the boat while john b drove and kie amd pope sat a behind him.

jj whistled randomly, then started to speak after everyone was quiet for a while. "you guys see that? that's the malibu 24-MXZ. The worlds finest wakesetter. number one in luxury, quality and performance." jj rambled on about the boat that was headed towards them.

"200k easy." JJ said

"my dad wanted to get one of those, but he thought it was a waste of money just for a boat." bentley said

"yet you're named after his 150 thousand dollar car, bentley." JJ said

"yeah...well. i-uh. that not my fault. and besides, topper got that for his 16th birthday and my dad is 40. and makes his own money. daddy's money little bitch over there on the other hand" she scoffed
