He was just scared. Just scared. That's all it was. Virgil was just scared. Just...
"I'm just scared. That's all." Virgil whispered to himself quietly as he watched everyone walk back out to the living room. He frowned as he glanced back at the door gripping the knob tightly, the memory of what had happened playing through his mind. He had started feeling sick again so he ran into the bathroom to throw up when... when he spotted a zombie literally laying in the It didn't look good. Especially not with how the zombie had seemed to die in the first place. All he knew was the second he saw it he had panicked and ran out of there as fast as he could. Virgil sighed, opening the door slightly, as he tried to ignore how his body was shaking at the very sound of it creaking. He was just scared. Virgil knew that. He was too scared. He was quite aware that he needed to man the fuck up. That was why he didn't tell them.
Virgil was far too afraid to even survive. How he had made it this long... He knew it was only because of those who protected him. He had to stop being so afraid. Especially if he ever wants to get himself free from this shitfest.
That's why he found himself slowly making his way back into the bathroom before freezing up at the sight of the zombie just laying there. Maybe... maybe it was already dead? Yeah. It's... It's already dead. That's why it isn't...
Virgil stumbled back with a choked squeak the second the zombie turned to look at him. He couldn't stop how he whimpered out in fear. It wasn't dead. Virgil frantically scrambled for something... anything he could use to kill it. All he could really find was a comb. One of those pointy combs people would sometimes use to style hair. I stood there gripping the comb tightly as the zombie just stared at him endlessly.
He was shaking so badly. So very badly... but the zombie just sat there frozen in the tub not even bothering to attack. Virgil frowned as he stood there hesitating in his confusion. Why wasn't it attacking? Why... Virgil froze once again as something flashed in its eyes. Or maybe Virgil just thought he had seen something flash? His hands dropped as he cocked his head to the side in confusion, the comb falling out of his hand and onto the floor. Why wasn't it attacking him? What...
Virgil blinked only to find himself kneeling down directly in front of it just staring into those dead yellow eyes. He moved his head and it seemed to follow him. Why? Virgil hadn't even realized he started to reach out until he literally poked the thing. He jumped back as it opened it's mouth slightly, causing him to bang his head against the sink cupboard. There was a loud bang from the impact followed by curses of pain and fear from Virgil... And yet... It wouldn't move. Virgil just swallowed his anxiety as he looked back over at it to see if it was hurt or not when a knife was suddenly in its forehead. Virgil jumped back yet again throwing his hands up only to see Roman standing there looking confused.
"I uh... I... I was gonna kill it." Roman narrowed his eyes as he crossed his arms clearly in some sort of disbelief only making Virgil's nerves worse. "I swear. I just..."
"It looked like you wanted it to bite you." Virgil's blood went cold as he froze up, body rigid in anger. He nearly punched the shit out of him right then and there. Virgil quickly grabbed the comb off the floor, tossing it in the sink, before just running out of the bathroom. "Virgil! Don't just..." The younger spun around and slapped Roman without a second hesitation making the lieutenant still in complete shock.
"You don't own me. You don't even know what going on. So don't you dare try to tell me what you think is happening." Roman just stood there blinking before narrowing his eyes as Virgil just sighed.
"Why didn't you just tell us there was a zombie in the bathroom?" Virgil could see everyone jump up as he frowned. "Virgil..."
"I was going to kill it." Roman shook his head only making Virgil's anger worse. "I WAS!"
"You freak out every time you so much as hear one. You're weak. How you even made it this far without getting chewed apart..." Virgil stumbled back holding his wrist tightly as the flashback started. He was already on edge... already dealing with so much. Having to go back... dealing with doctors and zombies and... Roman narrowed his eyes in concern as Virgil tried to catch his breath. "This is what I mean." Virgil swayed a bit and Roman's eyes went wide. "Virgil..." He tried to reach out to help stabilize him but Virgil slapped his hand away.
"You... know nothing." Roman's eyes narrowed with a literal fire burning through them as he leaned in close with a growl.
"Well then... maybe you'd enjoy the dead zombie's company better." Virgil just smiled with a curt laugh, watching as Roman's face fell a bit.
"I actually would." Virgil lulled before just flat out pushing Roman out of the way as he ran back into the bathroom just to prove a point. He could hear Roman calling his name, and just as he locked the door Roman started to knock. "Go away, Roman!"
"Virgil, I didn't mean to..."
"GO AWAY!" Virgil punched the door, wincing at the pain he got from it, as he heard Roman sigh on the other side. Virgil just leaned back against the door hearing the other walk away, before slowly sliding to the floor. He glanced over at the tub and frowned seeing the zombie lying there dead. It wasn't going to be getting up now. At least Virgil knew that for a fact. The problem was he still had his questions. Why... Why didn't it try to attack him? Why... Why didn't it seem to bother him?
What the hell is going on?
