Virgil sat there as the zombies crowded around him. He had curled himself up into a ball just waiting for the inevitable pain but... It never came. They never attacked. They never... Virgil could hear this alarm go off and several of the zombies began to 'freak out'. He quickly jumped up pressing himself against the wall but still, they didn't attack him. He just narrowed his eyes and stood there in silence as they bumped into each other. Why weren't they attacking him?
Virgil hesitantly reached out towards a zombie and froze as it looked over at him. It just stood there mouth open watching him with every subtle twitch Virgil made. He couldn't stop the shaking. It wasn't attacking him. Why? Why were none of them attacking? Virgil swallowed his anxiety as he poked the zombie in the shoulder causing it to stumble back into another z. Virgil blinked for a slight second before just laughing out of pure unabated fear. The zombie cocked its head to the side as if asking why Virgil had done it? Virgil let his hand drop as he looked at it in complete curiosity. It wasn't attacking him. Does... Does that mean...
Virgil slowly reached up and let his hood drop as the zombie turned back around to join the others in literally nothing. He sighed as he looked around the room. Now that he wasn't freaking out over what he thought was a definite possibility of getting eaten alive... because well... they were completely ignoring him now, Virgil could see pipes lining the walls. Giant tanks filled the space not occupied by the walking dead and he frowned in concern. He walked over to one and listened as well as he could not wanting to touch the tank in case it was hot. His hearing was actually pretty damn good it seemed. He could hear the gas inside as clearly as the shuffling steps of the corpses around him. At least... he thought it was gas anyway.
And gas from the tanks mixed with the unfortunate fumes of a room filled with rotting corpses... Well, that is one hell of an explosion waiting to happen.
An explosion... Like the one that he had caused. The one that destroyed that blasted lab to bits.
Virgil held his new gun up in the air and frowned. Why did he do that again? What was the point in blowing that place up? He laughed at himself a little as he let my hand drop back to the metal frame of the truck bed he was laying in. Maybe he just wanted to make sure that fucker was dead and that he'd never have to come back to that place again.
Maybe he felt bad for them. The Z's... Did he feel bad? He could have shot some on the way out. He... he didn't though... No, he blew the whole building up instead.
As soon as Virgil had managed to break the door down, with the zombies' help of course, he spotted Roman and completely freaked out. Chris was pointing a gun at Roman. He was going to kill him. He... He was... seconds after all the zombies spilled out around him racing to dig into their next meal. Virgil pushed himself out of the z's and grabbed Roman's hand before he could end up zom chow.
"Moron.." Roman turned to look at him and Virgil tensed seeing some of the zombies reaching out for them. No, not them. For him. For Roman. He was so lost in his panic he didn't even notice the look the other had the second Roman laid eyes on him. "...MOVE!" Virgil took off running dragging Roman behind him as Chris started to let loose on the herd. Well, maybe next time don't keep a horde of zombies. Your mistake was throwing Virgil in there. "Shit!" Virgil was getting frustrated. He had to get Roman out but everywhere they went it was just more zombies.
"You're telling me." Roman just laughed as they made it to this open door. This must be what set that one alarm off. Like an emergency exit alarm at a school. Virgil narrowed his eyes as he turned to see all these zombies right behind them. The others... they might be out there too. He had to keep the zombies from getting them. Virgil groaned as he shoved Roman through the door as fast as he could before slamming the bar down to lock it in place. "VIRGIL?!" He looked up to see Roman watching him with shock-filled eyes. "Virgil, what... What are you do-..."
"GO!" Virgil yelled out before taking off and pulling his hood back up as he ran. He knew they wouldn't follow him but still. The thought of being locked in with a shit ton of flesh-eaters was not ideal.
So when exactly did he get the gun again? Oh right... Chris...
"STOP RIGHT THERE!" Virgil froze up instantly, throwing my hands up in the air, as he withheld the growl he wanted to make. How was he still... "How are you alive?" Virgil rolled his eyes over the man basically just reading his mind. He sighed as he slowly spun around, pulling his hood down again. The second he did he could see how Chris's whole body completely tensed up. "How..."
"Honestly, I have no idea." Chris narrowed his eyes as some z's entered the room. He started to smile backing up as if he was going to let the zombies finish Virgil off. Didn't he already try that? It didn't work then. What made him think it would now? The two zombies ran right past Virgil, who just stood there watching as Chris's eyes went wide in panic. Virgil didn't even bother hiding his exasperation over Chris trying to shoot the two down only to find out... the bastard had wasted all his bullets. MORON! Don't you know you're supposed to pay attention? Even Virgil knew to count the shots. Virgil waited and watched as the zombies grabbed Chris's arms. He didn't even flinch as they tore into him. His eyes simply narrowed subtly as Chris screamed in pain. Virgil frowned as if in boredom and pulled his hood back up. He started to turn away when Chris cried out to him.
"Don't just leave me like this." Virgil honestly laughed. He walked over to him and knelt down ignoring the smell of blood and the sound of the zombies eating him.
"Why on earth would I do anything for you?" Virgil smiled wickedly as he grabbed his gun and scoffed.
"B-Bullets..." Virgil quirked a brow at the other watching as Chris's eyes started to drop. "In... the desk... drawer..."
"Why thank you. See you're so much more helpful when you're dying." Virgil jumped up and gave the other a salute as walked off listening to how the bastard just begged for mercy. Mercy my ass. He got what he deserved. He... He blew the fuck up.
When Virgil got the bullets he took one good look at all the dead faces he could see. They looked so sad. So... hungry. He walked himself back to the pipes and burst a few. What? Maybe he was just in a merciful mood? He walked into the kitchen and turned on the stovetop. The zombies just watched. They all watched with this sort of confusion as he lit the stove and took off running. He actually surprised he had gotten out in time.
The truck stopped and Virgil frowned as he looked up at the now frozen looking sky. Why did they stop? Something hit the side of the truck causing Virgil to jump up and point the gun at the thing that made the sound. Don't ask why he was so jumpy. He still didn't understand why the zombies weren't attacking him. And even if it was permanent as it seemed to be... That doesn't mean he's entirely safe. Regardless...
"Holy shit, Virgil." Roman threw his arms in the air as Virgil narrowed his eyes. Roman just looked at his gun with apprehension before trying to give the other a calming smile. "I just wanted to check on you." Virgil rolled his eyes as he slowly put the gun down ignoring just how nervous that had made the other.
"I'm fine. Why did the truck stop?" Virgil watched in confusion as Roman jumped into the back and hit the truck to signal he was in. "Roman?"
"I told you. I wanted to check on you."
