I laugh. "Shut up. I wasn't feeling like myself that day. I mean... I woke up in a random hospital with no memory of anything so... I panicked and followed the cat." I take a sip of my boba.
He smiles. "I thought you were a crazy person."
"Uh. Rude." I reply.
He shrugs. "Well, when you see someone running around with a hospital gown on and a missing eye, chasing a cat, that's not something you see everyday."
I look at him. "You saw my eye?"
He looks at me too. "Yeah, you weren't really hiding it."
"Tch. That's stupid of me." I say and look back at the river. We went over to the vendors to get some boba after we woke up and then came back.
"When you started speaking, though, I knew you weren't crazy." He adds.
I smile. "Why is that?"
He stirs his boba as he speaks. "Because when you spoke, there was something about your voice that... Told a story. And then when I looked into you eye, I knew you've been through things that have made you strong. You're eyes were really happy. But behind them, there was pain. I could tell something was happening, you're voice was quite carefree though. It made me have something to look up to."
I lay on my back and look up at the blue sky. "Hm... You're good at reading people, huh?"
He shifts. "I wouldn't think so." He lays down beside me.
"Well you're better than a lot of people." I tell him.
He chuckles softly. "You're better than me, though."
"Eh." I shrug. "Not to brag, but yeah, I'm way better."
"How did you get so good at reading people?" He asks.
I sigh. "Dunno. I just started doing it by instinct, I guess."
We both stare up at the clouds drifting through the vast sky and we talk about random things. Minutes turn into and hour. An hour turns into 3 hours. Serious talk, stupid talk, random talk, and then just talk. Along the way, we decide to go get snacks at the vendors. Then we walk around the park. By then, we've used energy and gotten to know each other more.
I kick a rock further along the sidewalk and watch it as it stops. When I come up on it again, I kick it once more. I chuckle as Todoroki kicks it when it goes on his side. We do that as we talk about school.
"I don't know, Aizawa is a bit... Bleh." I say.
"Why is that?" He asks.
I shrug. "Well, all he does is sleep and he doesn't pay attention to anything, let alone care about it. I mean, I would be surprised if anyone would wanna be his friend. He's to... Weak for life."
"That's a bit harsh."
"Heh. Well they're his words, not mine."
"What do you mean?" Todoroki asks.
I let out a sigh. "Nothing. Don't worry about it. All I'm saying is that, he might be a hero and a strong one at that, but life isn't all about earning money from hero work. You also need to worry about people and maybe even take care of a person. It's just what you gotta do. Some people don't take care or meet people, but they also do other things. Anyways, Aizawa is too weak minded to deal with those types of things."
[Sorry, honey, I don't mean that, Sumi is just being salty about you refusing to take her in. I don't mean any of that. I love you still.]
Todoroki kicks the rock again. "Hm... How do you know that?"
