Harry's Pov
After Louis had left, I sighed and turned back to the couch. It was so boring without him here but I knew that he had to help the lads with the villains and the bank robbery. Honestly, I'm proud of them to do this.
Right now, thinking about it, I don't think I would be of much help in that situation. It makes me feel a bit glad not to have a power but also very concern for my boyfriend and bestmates.
I hummed, thinking about what to do until Louis came back again. Then I glanced at the TV. There would be reporters and police there, so I dove for the remote Louis left on the couch and quickly switched the TV on to the news.
I was right when there was currently a new reporter and camera on the bank. I quickly turned up the volume and listened.
"We are currently standing right outside of the bank in which is now being robbed!"
The camera showed the crowds and policemen everywhere behind their cars with their guns drawn. The crowds were trying to get any glimpses of any sort of action from the bank.
I sighed and drummed my fingers on my thigh nervously, waiting for the lads to show if they haven't already shown up and were currently in the building.
Then a flash of blue and red appeared and I shot up in spot as I see Louis landing on the roof of the bank building with his flames trailing around him.
Even from the TV view, I could clearly see his eyes burning like his fire. He looked heroic. I chuckled as the camera showed him looking around before he disappeared in the building. Louis always loved a good dramatic entrance.
"Who is he? Is he here to help us or here to help those inside?"
I shook my head, hearing the crowd chant many questions and answers in the air. The word 'hero' clearer than day. The camera suddenly pointed at the sky when the crowds started shout and point. I smirked when I was Liam followed by Zayn and Niall quickly fly up and landed on the roof of the bank too using their powers.
"More heroes it seems like?! Who are they and where have they been? Now they've come to help us! Let's cheer for the new heroes!"
The crowd did cheer and I watched Liam, Zayn and Niall quickly follow after Louis and disappeared. I sighed, turning off the TV, knowing I had to wait for them.
I sat back on the couch, not knowing how long it would take. Watching TV would just be boring and all thats broad casting on all the channels was the news on the bank robbery. I sighed again, sinking into the couch. I was bored here without any of the lads and there wasn't much to do.
With a hum, I stood up, knowing I had to find something to occupy my mind. I turned from the living room, heading for the stairs. I knew there would be something to do in my room.
But then there was a voice that made my steps stop and my blood run cold.
"So this is where the famous heroes live? Huh, not much to be honest," the voice said with clear disgust. I whipped around and my eyes widened.
Matthew sat on the love seat, feet up against the coffee table like he owned the place. He looked around with distaste written all over his face that he didn't bother to hide. Finally, he met my eyes and a taunting smirk tilted his lips.
"How do you know this is where we live? How did you get in here?" I bit out, anger bubbling inside of me, replacing the fear.
He only snickered. "Oh, Child of Light. So much to learn."
This only pissed me off even more.
"Get out!" I hissed, pointing towards the door.
He gave me a pointed look. "Oh? And what are you going to do? Make me? We both know you're no match for me."
To put emphasis in his words, the temperature of the room dropped significantly. I forced myself not to curl into myself into the cold, to show him that I was bothered. I took a deep breath, its cloud of air showing from how cold Matthew made it.
"They'll be here any second and they'll take you down," I said instead, knowing full well that he knows who I'm talking about. He only hummed with pursed lips and a simple nod of his head.
"Why are you even here? Shouldn't you be helping your friends?" I asked, subtly crossing my arms to contain some of my body heat. The cold was really bothering me and it didn't help that I was wearing a thin black t-shirt and jeans.
He smirked. "They're helping me by distracting your hero friends. I'm here on behalf of Ashes to warn you."
I rolled my eyes, honestly irritated. "Yeah, yeah. Ashes isn't going to let go, whatever. Leave!"
Matthew started from my attitude and stood. He didn't make any move towards me but the room did drop another degree.
"Ashes won't let you go, thats right. Let me tell you, Child of Light, you may be rolling your eyes right now but trust me you won't be doing that later," he grinned manically and for a moment that fear came back. I let it come, both anger and fear walking on a thin line.
"What do you mean?" I asked, doubtfulness and hesitation in my voice from his words.
"Would you be willing to sacrifice everything for your loved ones?" He asked suddenly instead. The question caught me off guard but I answered it without hesitation.
"Yes."
He gave me a deadly grin. "Well, your in for a whole lot of pain, Child."
I squirmed, not bothering to hide my shivers or chatters of my teeth anymore. The words sent a shiver of terror down my spine at the word pain.
"If you won't cooperate, he'll just have to hurt the ones you love," Matthew took a taunting step forward, eyes shining with wickedness that went along with his deadly, smug smirk. "You don't want that, right?"
The anger was now fully gone and replaced by fear. I didn't let it show, tried to keep my face as blank as possible. I didn't want Louis or any of the lads, James, Eleanor or the others to get because of me. All because of this stupid cursed prophecy.
"No," I muttered, staring him down as his own miss matched eyes bore into mine. He smirked again before he disappeared but I didn't have the chance to do anything before I was harshly slammed against the wall.
I gasped in pain and from the cold, my body shivering violently now. A jolt went through me as Matthew touched me and then was there suddenly, right in my face and it didn't seem like he was even bothered by the intense cold.
He stared in my eyes and I gritted my teeth from his bruising grip.
"Then cooperate," he said simply, that deadly smirk only widening as he stepped back and vanished.
The cold didn't vanish with him and stayed. I sagged in relief with his absence but slid down the wall to curl into myself for warmth, the cold beating me down.
I could see my breath that seemed to freeze in the artic cold and my teeth chattered harshly. My body seemed to feel differently ever since he left but I didn't try to think on it.
I held myself tight, fear still pounding my heart from Matthew's sudden appearance and words and while I sat, trying to keep myself warm, I started to feel numb. From the cold or not, I felt out of place like I wasn't even in my body even more.
Spots started to form in my eyes but I blinked them away in hopes Louis and the others would soon come.
