Harry's Pov
I froze. The lads haven't noticed and continued on with their chatting. Inside I was panicking. One thought was running throught my mind.
Who the hell comes to the woods anymore? I thought because during all the times me and the lads spent here, nobody ever came into the woods.
The footsteps were close and I started to hear voices. I jumped up and hurried over to the lads. I covered Louis's mouth, because he was the loudest, and shushed the others in a serious tone so they would get to be quiet and not ignore me.
They seemed to get it and quieted quickly and I took my hand from Louis's mouth. They all looked at me with confused expressions as they took in my surely panicked one. Liam opened his mouth to speak but I shushed him again. He closed his mouth and I just shook my head.
The footsteps came closer and now the lads could hear them. Now, they're confused expressions matched mine; panicked. We could hear voices coming closer as well and I strained my ears to listen.
"I heard the scream over near here, El," I looked over at Liam who's face turned apologetic but I waved it off. The voice was deep like a man's and clearly held a bubbly personality underneath as well as some sophistication which was a weird combination of personalities.
"Do you think it could be them, James? The ones?" A lighter, definitely femine voice answered.
The ones? I thought.
The words made me confused and the lads matched my confusion. But I snapped out it, wondering what were we going to do? What if they find us here?
"Guys, what are we going to do? We can't be caught here!" Liam whispered, always taking my thoughts out of my brain.
"Well, we have to do something! We can't just stand here. They sounded close!" Louis whispered back.
"But what were they talking 'bout? 'The ones'?" I whispered then, genuinely curious.
"H, this is not the time. If we get caught with our powers who knows what people will do!" Liam whispered-shouted. They continued to whisper but I just stood back while they did.
I listened closely for any of the footsteps or voices but I didn't hear anything. I turned around swiftly and I nearly jumped out of my skin.
There stood two people. A middle aged man with blonde hair and blue eyes with a kind face and next to him was a young woman with long dark brown hair and brown eyes with an amused face.
"Fuck," I cursed, loud enough to where the lads heard and stopped.
"What, H?" Liam asked before he turned to where I was looking at and cursed himself.
"Um, hello," The man said with a kind wave and smile to match. Me and the lads didn't answer and I turned back to them. They all had wide eyes and they seemed to not want to talk. I sighed before looking back to the two people in front.
"Uhm," I coughed lightly. "Hi."
The lads turned to me in shock out of the corner of my eyes. I turned back to them and they shook their heads. I just gave them a hard look as if to tell them that 'its alright, I could deal with this.'
Liam huffed and crossed his arms, clearly not likely the idea but not protesting. The lads just nodded for me to do so, clearly confidant with me dealing with this.
"We heard a scream from here. Is everything alright?" The man asked, seemingly genuinely concerned with furrowed brows.
I nodded, plastering a dimpled smile before saying, "Everything's fine. My friend just had a scare."
