Chapter 16. Where are you Atsumu?

I'm running through the park at full speed, looking for any sign of Atsumu. I'm exhausted, but I can worry about that later. I need to find him now or I'll never forgive myself. After running through the whole park I feel my phone vibrating, it better be Kenma. I look to see who it was then pressed the accept button, slamming it to my ear still running. "You here!?" I say panting heavily while running, I could hear him sigh. "Yes Shoyo, I'm at the entrance, common." After I heard his location I bolted in the direction of the entrance. After spotting Kenma's car I knocked on the passenger door. As soon as I heard it unlock, I ran inside. After sitting down I finally had a chance to catch my breath, I could barely breathe. Kenma noticed at patted my back trying to help me out, I kept panting. "Go Kenma! I'm gonna... find out his location... before he does something stupid..." I said in between my heavy pants, he could see him nod in the corner of my eye. "Wait so why am I here?" I heard come from the back seat, is that Kuroo? "You're here to be our extra pair of eyes! We need eyes Kuroo." With that, it was silent until I finally could look up after catching most of my breath. I look towards Kenma who looked pretty decent for someone who just threw something on. I keep my eye out for anyone like looks like Atsumu, we have stopped by so many blonde tops it is unreal. We couldn't find him, the longer we search the more heartache feeling kept coming back stronger and stronger, this is all my fault. I should've just shut my mouth, if I did Atsumu would still be here with me. I start crying, I couldn't do this anymore. I miss him, I never want him out of my life. I felt a hand on my back rubbing it slowly, I didn't care I just Atsumu back.

          It's been many hours and I still haven't stopped crying, my heart hurts so bad. "Kenma... stop the car..." I say looking down and then I feel the car stop. "Shoyo?" I could hear Kenma, but I couldn't care. "Wait why haven't we tried calling Atsumu on Kenma's phone?" I heard Kuroo say from the back seat, how could I be so dumb? My head shoots up and turns towards Kenma who was already on his phone. "What's his number Shoyo!?" Kenma said still typing away at his phone, I have him Atsumu's number and the phone had started ringing. We heard someone pick it up "who is this?" I felt glad hearing Atsumu's voice, he's okay. "Tsumu! Please, let's talk this out... I don't like you being mad at me!" I begged over the phone, I was waiting for a response then he said "No, I told you don't talk to me! You wanna be Osamu's friend so bad... b-be his friend then..." I could hear the pain in his voice at the end of his sentence. "Please Tsumu, you're my best friend... I don't want to lose you... I can explain everything if you'd let me see you in person." I said pleading and hoping he wouldn't hang up on me. "Fine! You wanna prove your innocence!? Meet me at the first place I ever got to set to you! At 4:00 pm" he said clearly not having it, I look at the time. 3:30 pm, I can easily make that with Kenma driving me. "I will be there! Please don't let this be a setup... I want to see you Tsumu." I beg into the phone for the third time. "Don't disappoint me Shoyo..." with that he hung up, I felt empty but with a string of hope. "Where is it Shoyo? I'll drive you there" Kenma said giving me one of his insanely serious faces. "I'll guide you, go straight Kenma." He nodded and with that Kenma was driving fast. I struggle to guide him as fast he was going, I could barely keep up.

          As we finally pull up to the location my eyes are wide open scanning for Atsumu, where could he be? Kenma stopped right by a random volleyball net conveniently sitting in the exact position the same day Atsumu and I really got close. I hop out of the car and park into the door "I'm so sorry for all the trouble Kenma, but could you stay just in case something bad happens?" He nodded and sat back preparing to sit there for a little, I smile and close the door. Please don't be mad at me Atsumu, I love you too much for you to be mad at me. I heard someone approaching, I turn in the direction to see an angry-looking Atsumu. After many steps Atsumu stopped in front of me, looking down at me.

            I mentally gulp "h-hey T-Tsumu." I barely managed to get out, he's intimidating when he's mad. "Explain." That was all that came out of his mouth, he's still very mad at me.  "Tsumu... I never consented to him calling me by my first name, I never took his side either Tsumu I-.." I was interrupted by being lifted by my shirt "Like hell you didn't take his side!! You defended him! You betrayed me Shoyo! Do you know how that feels!?" Atsumu said yelling in my face, I keep my eyes closed until he finished. "Tsumu I understand that you're mad, but p-please you have to stop and think, why would I choose his side when I have you?" Atsumu let go of my shirt, I can stand properly now. "Shoyo... you still don't get it!!" He placed his hands on his head in frustration, squeezing his head in the process. "I suck compared to my brother!! He's always better than me at social skills! Making friends! Getting people on his side! I thought you were different Shoyo!" Atsumu said every word squeezing his head harder, I grab his wrists and try to stop him. "Tsumu you idiot! Don't say these things about yourself! You're an amazing guy and the best best friend I could ever ask for, and you have the nerve to not think you're good enough!? You're one of the best things to ever happen to me damn it!" I yell and pull his hands from his head, he looked like he was gonna hurt himself if I didn't intervene. He was staring at me, he was shocked. Why would he ever need to be shocked about me admitting how much he meant to me? "I wanted you to hear him out because I had confronted him about him taking your friends! He wanted to talk to you about that situation Tsumu... I would never side with him if it meant hurting you." I say and put my hand on his cheek, he leaned into my cheek. He placed his hand on my hand and closed his eyes. He really is the most gorgeous person to ever walk this earth, and he's my best friend. "But your words suggested that you were on his side," he said quietly while rubbing his cheek on my hand. "You know I would never choose him over you Tsumu, don't you ever forget it" I smile at him and he gives me a tiny smile, which still made me happy. "Shoyo... I'm sorry, I shouldn't have run away without an explanation... I was just... so mad" he never moved his hand on top of mine, I loved this feeling. "It's okay Tsumu, I will always forgive you... no matter what." I send him one of my biggest smiles, and he smiles back.

            I love seeing that beautiful smile of his, I'm so happy to see it back. "I'm sorry too... Tsumu... I should've told you I confronted Osamu." He let go of my hand letting it drop, he then pulled me into a big hug. "Shoyo... it's okay, I forgive you too..." I hug back and we stand there for a minute just hugging. We both pull away looking at each other, I couldn't help but stare at his beautiful brown eyes. I could feel the distance between us closing, his hands still wrapped around my waist from the hug. I could feel my face heating up, but I could care less. Our noses are touching our lips just keep getting closer, I close my eyes I could feel his face tilted to the side and feel the softness of his lips touch mine. I feel all tingly like this was meant to be. Both of us never pulled away, Atsumu even putting his hand on the back of my head to deepen the kiss. Atsumu bit my lip softly asking for an entrance, how could I say no? After letting him in I let him explore wherever he wanted, I was his in this situation. Was this real life? I'm kissing the man of my dreams and he's actually kissing me back. We both pulled away panting, looks like we forgot that we need oxygen. I look back up at Atsumu to see his face completely red, I've never seen him blush this hard. It's cute. My deep blush turns even deeper when I hear Atsumu say.

"I love you Shoyo"
