"So you can come back Thursday and Friday for training and Monday, you'll officially start your first day," Victoria told me as we walked back to the front of the office and I nodded
"Okay. So is that it"
"Yes. Pretty much. I think you'll love it here. It's not a big girl and we're all close, everybody's friendly. And like I said about mr lakes, he's like the perfect boss"
Just as Victoria said that his office door opened and he walked out taking his phone away from his ear while Victoria smiled
"Good morning Mr Lakes.. this is milani Mitchell. She's the new family law paralegal I told you about"
He looked just as shocked to see me as I was finding out I was gonna work for him
"Milani.. how are you?"
"I'm good" I simply responded before looking at Victoria again "so.. I'll see you Thursday"
"Make sure you come at 8" she told me with a smile and I nodded as she turned to talk to mr lakes while I reached in my purse to grab my keys. After I grabbed them and looked up, I saw Victoria smiling in his face as she ran her hand down his chest but I just turned around and headed out of the door, leaving and went went straight home
When I got home I wasn't surprised to see scooter was there because today was his day off. As I walked in the house he was sitting on the couch cleaning a pair of his shoes. He looked over at me for a quick second before looking back down at his shoes
"Wassup mama. How did it go?"
He sat the shoe on the ground as I walked over to him and sat on his lap smiling.
"I go back Thursday and Friday for training then I start Monday"
Scooter smiled
"Ight now babygirl. I'm proud of you"
"Thank you baby" I kissed him "but.. ion wanna talk about that right now"
"Whatchu wanna talk about then?"
I sighed before talking again "how important is a wedding to you?"
Scooter just shrugged "shit...."
"Be honest"
"They overrated. Why?"
"Do you really wanna have one?"
"I mean. I figured you wanted to have one"
"I really don't. And at this point I feel like it'll be a waste of money to have one. Why can't we just let it be just the two of us. That way it'll be real and intimate"
"I'm down with whatever Lani. I just wanna marry you"
"Well let's do it tomorrow"
He rose his eyebrow "tomorrow?"
"Yes. Go to the courthouse and do whatever we have to do. And we can save the money, headache and all that unnecessary shit"
"If that's whatchu wanna do then I'm with it. But my question is are you sure cause this seem out of the blue milani"
"I know it is. But I've been trying to find a reason why I've been pushing this wedding thing back and it's just because ion wanna have one"
"Well if this what you sure you wanna do. I'm down mama"
"Well we getting married tomorrow" I cheesed while turning all the way on his lap to face him while wrapping my arms around his neck and kissed him repeatedly "I love you.. soo much baby"
