Dream gently laid down the round black bird unto the towels above the kitchen sink. She could not laid the unconcious being unto the bed because the whole shed is dusty and dirty. It had been awhile since Dream entered the shed. There is a hanging window, probably due to the last storm and that prompts for leaves and dust to enter the tiny place. The kitchen sink is on the side corner making it cleaner than the most part of the shed. Moreover, she wants to be near the faucet. Dream is thinking that the bird passed out due to heat. The temperature outside is more than bearable to Dream but it might not be the case for the other beings. As matter of fact, Dream have not seen much flying birds, so she concludes it is the too hot for them to fly in the middle of the day.
Dream turned on the faucet to check if clean water is still running.
"Hmm... Aren't owls nocturnal though?"
Dream wet her hand and tried to whisk some drops of water to the owl's body. There is still no movement.
"Hmm, I do not know what to do. Probably it passed out of hunger? What do owls eat? Fruits? Meat or both?"
Dream's only experienced with birds is with Scarlet who is a Raven. Scarlet eats anything Dream shared to the bird. Then Dream's round eyes flash.
"I am growing pumpkins outside!" Dream tucked in the bird with the towel and run outside with a knife to grab one pumpkin.
During hot seasons, Dream's herb garden becomes a tiny pumpkin orchard. Kaleid gave Dream pumpkin seeds when the steward noticed that Dream was despondent when her herbs died due to the heat. Dream likes planting the pumpkin and some more variety of squash. It attracts bees and help the pollination in her garden. At first, Kaleid was worried and wants to pull out the seedlings when he noticed the increased amounts of bees. The steward seems not to be fond of the buzzing insect but insist that he is scared that Dream will be stung one day. But Dream insist on keeping the seedlings and explained to the steward what she learned from her teacher and Dia about the benefits of bees to pollination. Kaleid was hesitant but give in to Dream's puppy eyes. From then on, during the hot seasons, Dream's garden is more vibrant than any other gardens in the continent.
Dream hurried back to the shed with a pumpkin on her arm. Dream laid it next to the owl and stared at it for a while.
"Well, it is passed out and I don't think that it will have strength to open the pumkin. Pumpkins are hard after all."
So Dream grabbed a knife and start cutting the pumpkin.
"It is hard..."
The knife is stuck half way into the pumpkin. Dream had cut pumpkins in her past life and it is always a challenge to do so.
"Should I boil it?"
Dream started slamming the knife with the pumkin stuck unto it. It feels like the pumpkin will break the knife instead. With Dream's strength it is not impossible to easily cut the pumpkin; the problem is that her tool is dull.
With the slamming sounds and the trembling of the kitchen counter, the passed out round black bird finally start opening it's eyes. It's red round eyes were blurry but it soon focused where the sound and ruckus is originating. The owl subconciously gasped upon seeing the knife and the tall but slender human with her glowing red eyes that is being shadowed by her wavy and unruly hair. The slamming stopped and the gaze of the human girl turned to the owl's side. She noticed that the round being is finally concious.
The owl gulped upon seeing a smile from the girl and knife with something stuck into a round thing in her hands. She raised that hand that have the knife, and the thing or whatever it is, is still stuck into knife. Then blood start dripping down into the sleeves of the human girl. The blood is just as red as her eyes.
