Chris:

It's nearly afternoon when Graham and I came back from the woodlands. We put loads of different sizes of chunks of wood inside the small greenhouse next to the cottage and carefully placing them in separate piles.

"You've plenty of woods now to keep you both warm, eh!" Graham said teasingly. He faces and smiles at me.

"Yeah, I know. Plenty enough to last for a couple of days, I guess!" I jokingly replied while chuckling. "Cheers for this, mate! And, for the advice as well." I continued with a smile.

He smiles his reassuring, comforting smile on me while tapping my shoulder lightly.

"Go on. Talk to Mhairi."

I breathed out a deep sigh and nods. We bid our cheerios' to each other, and then he leaves afterwards. The sticky, manky feeling comes back as soon as I went inside the cottage from logging all day. I grab all my stuff from my luggage and goes straight into the shower. The weariness and lack of sleep immediately wash away as soon as the water touches my head and body. The moments from last night suddenly daunts me while my heart beats its slow yet riveting beats. I gently close my eyes, seeing the moment when Ate Mhairi and I danced in the veranda while those lovely, glittering lights surround us. The euphoric, ecstatic look on her face, how intoxicating and mesmerising her giggles and laugh every time she gazes at me, especially the feeling of how soft and vulnerable her lips are, feeling every bit of her lips touching mine. Every bit of that moment still lingers and consumes my whole being.

I heaved a profound sigh to suppress my ragged breathing from reminiscing the sweetest kiss we shared last night. That kiss seals this love I have for her, igniting my long-lost urge to claim what's mine. Yes, it's wrong – as what Ate Mhairi uttered last night. But I love her and only her since I've learned that she's the only one for me. Loving her tells me it's not wrong. My heart murmurs that this love I feel for her is right.

God, I love her! I love her so, so much I want to make her mine and only mine.

–Could you please set your feelings aside for now and focus, yeah? You need to talk to Mhairi and make things clear about what happened last night. You need to make sure if she did reject you or not. There's no turning back for you now that she knows about your feelings. –

I took a quick shower and stepped out of the bathroom afterwards – all dressed while rubbing the towel on my dripping, wet hair. I paused and stood in front of the bedroom door. I heaved a deep sigh to garner all my guts to face and speak to Mhairi.

"A-Ate? Ate Mhairi?" I called while knocking on the door.

No answer.

"Ate Mhairi? H-Have you had something to eat already?"

Still, no answer or any words from her and instead, a deafening silence reverberates from the inside. Anxiety quickly daunts me while thinking that she's not like this. I mean, she'll immediately reply as soon as I knock on her door. Without thinking twice, I pushed the door in haste. She's not in the room.

"Ate Mhairi? Ate Mhairi?!"

I quickly scanned the whole bedroom, even checking the veranda, thinking that she might be having a long lie on the hammock.

She's not on the veranda as well.

The consternation and utmost worry crawled rapidly throughout my system, feeling the panic and fear that she left the place independently without telling me.
