Chris:
I've went to every streets all over Edinburgh just to find Ate Mhairi. I even tried asking people that I bumped into if they see her wandering in the streets. The fear and worry escalates more while my feet continue on wandering around. The city's so huge I feel like I'm trying to find the smallest needle in the middle of a vast grass field. I keep on phoning my Mum to check if Mhairi might possibly go back in the hotel by any chance.
"I'm sorry Chris but, she's not here yet. Your Uncle George and Markus are out as well to find her. I've been trying to console your Auntie Jeannette because she's still in bits worrying about Mhairi."
I pause beside the pavement; heaving a deep sigh while putting my palms over my face. I slid it down to my mouth to ease the utmost worry that keeps on devouring me.
C'mon, Mhairi. Where are you?
Why did you leave without telling us where you're going?
Please, please show up to us...
Please show yourself to me.
I'm so, so worried about you.
I'm about to saunter along George Street when my phone suddenly vibrates in my pocket. I fish it out to answer the incoming call.
"Hello?"
"Chris, have you found Mhairi yet?"
My feet pause and turn into halt after heeding that very familiar voice on the other line.
"M-Markus? W-Why did---"
He cut me off before I could answer him back.
"I've no time for this, okay? Have you found Mhairi?"
The f*** he has the guts to ask me where his fiancée is, knowing the fact that he should be responsible for all of this!
"Why are you asking me? Aren't you supposed to find her for yourself after you let her out of your sight?!"
"Chris, please. I've no time for our rift, okay? I know you're trying to find her as well. I--- I just wanted to know if you manage to find her."
His voice is full of worry and fear. I could tell that he's really worried about Ate Mhairi. I could tell that he's setting aside our on-going rift between us just to find the woman we both love. I know I'm being such a baby and an absolute loser to act and talk like that to him in the first place. But I still couldn't help it;
I still couldn't help to face and accept the fact that he's going to marry the love of my life in a few days...
...that he's going to have Mhairi and all of her for the rest of his life.
I puff a deep breath and continue on sauntering.
"I'm still trying to find her, Markus. I've been searching the whole city centre to find her but to no avail."
Markus heave a deep sigh from the other line. Silence surrounds between us for a brief while. I could heed the noise around him, thinking that he's on the other street of Edinburgh wandering around just to find her.
