Tay

"So what's the deal with Adrienne?" Josh attempts to ask casually.

"What about her?" I say as we lock up for the night. I split the tips evenly. Six dollars and change makes for a slow night.

"Is she single?" Shit. Josh is my homie; I don't wanna to him too.

"Uhh. She's taken."

"Since when?" Josh asks as he locks the front door.

"Since yesterday when I asked her out." I say to Josh's back. At least I don't have to lie to his face.

"Hahahahhahaaa! That's fucking hilarious."

"I'm serious."

"I know that makes it funnier." Josh laughs sinking to his knees.

"Hilarious. I'll see you in the morning." I say as walk home. Josh's reaction makes me think that maybe this lie isn't halfway believable.

'Que se jodan! I can have a girlfriend and I can be a good girlfriend. Nah, I will be the best girlfriend.'

Perry and I go through our normal routine while I ring up Han.

"Han."

"Hey Tay. You coming over?"

"Yea. Me and Perry. See you soon." After I hang up, I ring a taxi. I gather a couple of toys and put Perry in his carrier. It literally says Prince Perry on the carrier. I change into some basketball shorts, a white t shirt, and my Jordan slides. I pack up my work shirt, apron, and hat in my bag. The taxi honks ruining the silence of the neighborhood.

'Way to go asshole! I'm not cattle. There goes your tip.'

I slide my irritated frame in the cab. I must have dozed or something because the next thing I know we pull up in front of Han's mailbox. I toss the cabbie his fare. Perry and I walk up to the door and ring the bell. To my surprise, Ren answers the door. A tipsy Ren pulls me through door. Perry is taken from me by Hannah and subsequently let loose. He runs back and forth between Han and Ren. He seems conflicted on who he wants to greet first. Luckily, Han picks him up and cuddles him. Ren, in a Perry like move, climbs up me until she secures her legs around my waist.

"Hey girls. What's going on?' I ask as I avoid Ren in her octopus imitation. Not being able to reach my lips, Ren starts sucking on my neck like a vampire. Pretty much still acting like an octopus. I look helplessly at Han who's too busy laughing her ass off to be any help. Plus, Perry is laid up on her.

"How was work, Tay?" Han asks between laughs. I struggle to get to the couch and pull Ren off me. Finally, she detaches looking rather proud of herself. I don't like that look. Han gestures to my neck. I take off to the bathroom. I flip on the lights and stare at the two huge ass hickeys on my neck. I snicker to myself.

'Un uh. I don't do hickeys. Now, I'm angry. Like silent steaming angry.'

Ren

I can tell Tay has found my little presents; I can hear her.

"Share the Perry." I tell Han with my arms open. Hannah lets him down and he runs towards Tay.

"Good boy." Tay says as Perry follows her to the couch opposite me.

"You're not mad are you, lover?" I tease. She honeslty makes it too easy.

"Nope. I'm good. Han, I need a couple of beers and shots to catch up to y'all. Plus, do you have any green?" Han doesn't even answer she pulls a bong on the table with a full Ziploc quart bag.

"Load it while I get your beers." Han says.

"It's ok, Han. I'll get it. I feel like I owe Tay."

I walk into Han's kitchen which looks like the standard student's kitchen. Dirty dishes in and around the sink, two separate trashcans: one for recycling filled with beer and alcohol bottles and one for regular trash, a barely used dishwasher, and a little breakfast nook with mismatched chairs. I open the fride and pull out a six pack and a bottle of gin. I bring them back to the living room and set them next to the empty shot glasses.

"Thanks, Ren." Tay says through the slits where her eyes used to be. At least, she looks more relaxed. I don't like weed but I can see the use. Hannah's not any better off; she's insanely giggling. Tay upends the bottle in her mouth then reaches for another. After her fourth beer, she loudly burps which sends Hannah into laughing fit.

"Guys, I'm bored. Let's play a game." I suggest. Tay shrugs.

"Let's wait a bit. Trev should be home soon. Then we can doubles beer pong." His ears must have been burning because Trev walks in.

"Hey ladies. What are we doing?" Trev asks. He greets all of us with kisses. Mine's on the cheek and Tay on her forehead.

"Trev, we have to set up the beer pong table while the girls set up some music." Tay says getting up from the couch.

"Sweet. I've been wanting to play doubles." Han and I throw on a house music/dubstep hitlist that starts off with Crizzly's take on Rihanna's Cake. I'm not usually a fan but it got me moving. The surround sound with bass boost rocks the house. The guys fix up the table in no time.

"House rules!" Tay and Trev shout.

"What?" I ask throughly confused.

"The house rules are simple. Two teams throw table tennis balls in the plastic cups. Sinking both balls into separate cups is a rollback which means you get another turn to throw the balls. Sink both balls in one cup equals game over and bragging rights. If you miss a cup and the ball hasn't hit the floor yet, the ball is free game. If you threw it  and you got the ball back, you have to do a trick shot like bouncing the ball off the ceiling, etc. If the other team clears your cups, you can have redemption where you shoot till all the cups are gone. Any questions?" Han says.

"Yea. Lots."

"Too bad. Learn as you go." Trev teases. Obviously the teams are broken down to couple vs. couple. Me and Tay line up on one side with Han and Trev on the other. Trev and Tay start off by shooting eye to eye. Tay sinks the first cup while Trev rolls his mis shot to me.

"How do I shoot?" I ask Tay.

"Yea. Show the lady, Tay." Trev teases batting his eyelids at Tay. With an exaggerated roll of her eyes, Tay steps behind me. She places her left hand on my hip and her right on my arm. Together we flex my elbow. Next, she motions a flicking motion with my wrist then we throw the ball. It rims one cup and lands in another.

"Whooo! Two cups and rollback! Good job babe!" Tay shouts. Trev takes out the cup. They chug the beers as we collect our rollback. We punish Trev and Han in the first game. Tay gloats and downs both our beers claiming she was thirsty. I'm not too mad especially because Tay is really affectionate. I can't keep her off of me. The second game we lost though it was close. The tie breaker game went longer but eventually we win.

'Mission accomplished.'

Tay's POV

'Everyone's wasted and I'm way too far gone.'

Hannah and Trev passed out hours ago. It's damn near 4 AM. Ren's nodding off with Perry curled up in her arms.

"Alright. Night night time." I gingerly pick up my sleeping girl and dog. Both snuggle in as I carry them to the room. As lightly as my drunken ass can, I lay them both on the bed. Together, Perry and I make a Ren sandwich.

'There's actually no place I rather be. This girlfriend thing is growing on me.'
