Tay's POV
"Taylor, dear. What time did you tell Adrienne to swing by? Your parents will be here soon enough."
"Mom, quit nagging. I already spoke to her. She's meeting me downstairs in a minute then we'll pick up the Reilly's."
"Mind your manners, dear."
"Don't I always?" I quip as I leave Mom's. I meet Ren at the door.
"How do I look?" Ren says casually but to me it sounds sultry. She's wearing a strapless bohemian dress with a white cardigan and gladiator sandals. Her blonde tresses are pinned on top of her hair with strategic curls framing her face.
"Good." I reply which sounds more strangled than nonchalant. Ren smirks knowing that she got me flustered.
'Two can play that game.'
"What about me?" Ren's lustful eyes take in my button down white shirt with the cuffs rolled with grey vest and my fitted slacks and grey suspenders with my black Gucci high top sneakers.
"You look good enough to eat." My libido ratchets up another level with her comment.
"I bet. Let's go." I lead Ren out the brownstone towards a nearby parking garage. I rent a bay which is capable of holding three vehicles. Right now, it only houses two.
"What are we doing here? I mean, I knew you couldn't pick your parents up in with Delores. So what are we driving?" Ren inquires. I don't reply. I just open the bay door and scoop the keys for the Range Rover. I motion for her to get in. I slip on my Ray Ban shades crank the tunes and speed towards the airport.
"Shouldn't you tell me about your parents before we go meet them?"
"First of all they're not really parents. Parents are people who take care of and love their offspring. That's not the Reillys. Second, I thought already told you how to act. Act like you're meeting someone you actually care to meet. Last, I don't have a third." I say counting off.
"Ok. You're no help. What's their names?"
"Celeste and Pearce Reilly."
"What exactly is your family's business?"
"We're a monopoly. The Reillys have their fingers in every pie. Any other questions?" I asked as I switch in out of lanes.
'Just talking about them grates my nerves. Imagine how bad it'll be when they're actually with me. The only highlight is I'm not alone. Ren gets the Reilly Experience as well. I feel slightly bad because all she gets out of this is Dean off her back.'
"No, not any that you'll answer." Ren whispers as she gazes out the window. We get off the interstate and drive towards the private airstrip and hangar. I pull up to the front and put my shades on the top of my head.
"Look, Ren. I don't mean to be short with you but the Reillys always tread on my nerves with cleats. I was a mistake and they never let me forget it. I'll try to keep my attitude for just them and not take it out on you. Deal?" I say sticking my hand out.
"Deal." Ren says softly as we shake on it. I slide my shades back on. I walk around the car opening the door for Ren. I hold Ren's hand and we walk into the hangar. I nod at the attendant and he opens the door for us. I can already here Celeste bitching about the flight on instinct my eyes roll. Pearce, as usual, is ignoring her and everyone else. I clear my throat drawing the attention to our presence.
'And it begins!'
"Hello dear. How are you? Mind the bags; they're Louis Vitton. You're too pretty to dress like a little boy." Celeste nags as she breezes past me and Ren.
