Tay's POV
"Thanks for calling Little Sicily. How may I help you?"
"Hey. I want to place an order for Michaels."
"Pick up or delivery?"
"Pick up. I need three extra large meat lovers, two cheese, and 100 mixed wings."
"That's a large order. Grand total 201.75. Your order will be ready in about an hour."
"Thanks. Bye bye." I finish ordering the pizza for tonight. I haven't even gotten dress yet. I'm not sure what I want to wear. Luckily I have a half hour left. My phone rings.
'Of course.'
"Speak."
"Taylor, it's Mom."
"I know, Celeste. What do you want?"
"Your father and I wanted to remind you that we, as a family, are going to church."
"As a family meaning what exactly?"
"Meaning us, you, and your girlfriend."
"Uh huh. I'll see what I can do."
"There is no seeing! You just show up, you insolent carpet munching spoiled piece of.." I hang up on Celeste in mid rant.
'Pretty satisfying but not as satisfying as a flip phone. Now I'm in a party hard mood. Thank you Celeste. Who would've thought you'd be the catalyst for my fire tonight?'
Feeling particularly determined, I start getting dressed. I wear a basic white t shirt with tattered baggy shorts with high top white chucks. I pull my hair into a ponytail and tie a grey bandana around my head. I have three thick rubber bands on my right wrist and a grey watch on my left. I check myself out in the mirror then descend the steps to the living room. Han and Trev had the same idea as me. We're all wearing light t shirts with ripped shorts.
"And then there was one. Do you think Ren got the unofficial dress code?" Trev asks. I shrug.
"We'll find out soon enough. She just texted me. She's a minute away." Han said right as the doorbell rings. Trev and Han look expectedly at me.
"Don't worry guys. I'll get the door." I sarcastically say opening the door for Ren.
'Holy hell! She looks simple but fantastic. She has on tight shorts with white Keds and a yellow tank. Even her ponytail looks great. It makes her eyes pop. I never knew her eyesr were that perfect blue green color.'
"That answers that." Han says.
"Answers what?" Ren asks quizzically.
"Nothing. Come with me to pick up the food? I'll drive." I say.
"Ok." Ren says. She follows me to the Range. We drive in silence to the pizza parlor.
'What's goin on? Why does this feel awkward? '
Ren's POV
'Why is she so quiet? I thought I impressed her with the way I dressed? Did she talk to Hannah about the whole boundary thing? '
We pull into the deserted Little Sicily parking lot. Tay holds the door for me.
"Hiya. I placed an order for Michaels less than an hour ago."
"Yes, we spoke on the phone. Your order is nearly complete. Just ten minutes more." The cashier says mooning over Tay.
"Cool cool. I'll wait." Tay says slouching in a chair.
