"Today is all about survival. If you get blasted, you're dead." Gobber tells us , enjoying the view of panicking teens. "Quick. What's the first thing you're going to need?"

"A doctor?" Hiccup offered, holding on to his axe for dear life.

"Plus five speed?" Fishleg ask.

Again with the numbers!

"Or, just leave them be." I nonchalantly suggested. Most of them looked at me weirdly.

Seriously, it's really just that easy. They won't bother you, if you don't bother them.

"A shield." Astrid says from the other side of the arena.

"Shields. Go." Gobber agreed, gesturing the shields around the edge of the arena. Of course, no one listened to me.

I internally groan and sluggishly walk towards the shields. I've been with a lot of dragons, being with one isn't something new to me; Especially when it's wild. Arriving at the shields, I saw Hiccup struggling to get a shield.

"Your most important piece of equipment is your shield." Gobber help Hiccup grab the shield and thrust it to the brunette. " If you must make a choice between a sword or a shield , take the shield."

"I agree, though I still favor on leaving them alone." I finally intervene the two. Gobber pushed Hiccup closer to the Gronckle. "Hiccup..!"

" [Y|N], get a shield. " Gobber gestured toward me, his other hand on his side.

"Make me..." I challenged. Gobber about to get me one, the twins cut in and grab the shield.

"Hey, get your hands off my shield!" Tuffnut growls at Ruffnut, who was also holding the shield with a skull on it.

"There are, like, a million shields!" Ruffnut argue back to her half twin.

"Uh, no. There's not." I joined in the conversation. Now, I know why Gobber looks so entertained.

"Yeah, listen to [Y|N]!" Tuffnut then point at a shield with a flower on it. " Take that one, it has a flower on it. Girls like flowers."

Without me expecting, Ruffnut suddenly bashes the flower designed shield in her brother's face. Tuffnut got a bloody nose. Makes sense. And another thing, Tuffnut still hasn't let go of the skull shield. I am oddly impressed.

"Oops, now this one has blood on it." Ruffnut snickered.

I semi-consciously went closer to the wall of the arena and lean on it; watching all of this unfold infront me. Forget about making this quick, this so fun to watch.

The Gronckle turns their focus to the twins and fortunately for them, blast the shield from both of their hands. But unfortunately, from the force of the attack of the Gronckle, they both flew seperately away from each other.

"Tuffnut, Ruffnut, you're out!" Gobber announced from the sidelines. "[Y|N], get in there!"

"What?!" The twin's simultanuesly ask, daze and confuse.

"No thanks, I'm standing by what I said!" I told Gobber. Even from the other side of the arena, I could read Gobber's lips saying between the lines of 'teens' and 'stubborn'.

I continue to watch the Gronckle that began to start eating some rocks. The dragon's reloading and if they won't fasten their pace, someone will surely get hurt. Then from my peripheral vision, I saw Hiccup ran towards the right side of the arena. I followed him, going through the middle between the dragon and the teens trying to fight against it.

When I was blocked with the Gronckle in front of me, I didn't hesitate on jumping over it. I didn't have time to see what the reaction of the others, but I could hear a 'woah' from Snotlout.

I successfully arrived besides Hiccup.

"Those shields are good for another thing." Gobber began. " Noise. Make lots of it to throw off a dragon's aim."

Shit. This isn't good.

"Gobber can, can we just skip that?" I suggested to the viking but I was too late.

The noise from the crashing of weapons against shields, made me want to curl and hold my ears. I could feel my eyes turn to slits and my teeth gotten sharper. I stayed frozen in place trying my best to tolerate all this.

I secretly look at my arm and sure enough scales started to appear. "For Odin's sake..."

When they saw the Gronckle started to sway and shaking their head, they stop their banging.

I check my arm and it was slowly fading. I let out a sigh of relief.

"All dragons have a limited number of shots. How many does a Gronckle have?" Gobber questioned.

"Five!" Snotlout answered proudly.

Wrong.

And in sync, me and Fishlegs answered, "Six!"

"Correct, six." Gobber agrees. " That's one for each of you!"

"I really don't think my parents--" The Gronckle stopped Fishlegs mid way by blasting his shield away.

I then saw Hiccup beside me back up against the wall. "You okay there, Hic?"

"Ye--"

"Fishlegs, out."

Gobber then looks at me and Hiccup and pushes us away from the side. "Hiccup, [Y|N], get out there!"

I look at Hiccup and see him sigh and glance at the dragon. I followed his action and see that the Gronckle was trained on Astrid and Snotlout, chatting. More of Snotlout failing on flirting while Astrid was focus on her task.

Just in time, Astrid dives out of the way avoiding the attack from the dragon. It hits Snotlout and his shield instead. "Snotlout! You're done!"

I couldn't help but snicker at Snotlout's pride being crushed.

Astrid went to our side and as if affected Hiccup, he began to talk. " So, it's just the three of us, huh?"

"No. Just you two." She tells Hiccup and move away from us. Then soon followed , a loud clang from the impact between the fire blast and a shield.

Hiccup accidentally dropped his axe. I gave Astrid a side glare before running towards Hiccup. The Gronckle takes chase at Hiccup, who's trying to get his shield back.

"Hiccup!" I called out now getting worried for him. The dragon caught up with him and pinned him against the wall.

The Gronckle opens its mouth, gases starting to build up for its attack. My eyes widen, my heart pounding. I run as fast as I could and reached the two right on time.

Jumped onto the Gronckle and with all my might move it's head away from Hiccup. "That's six!"

I swiftly jump off of it and stared into their yellow eyes, far from Arzel's hues.

" Hey... It's okay now. Everything's okay now. Come on, just follow me." I coo, putting both my hands on each side of its head. I walk backwards and - like a duckling following their mother - they waddle towards to me until I have reached to their cage.

If only they're not here, I would free this poor thing.

I gave the pitiful dragon a small glance, guilt surge inside me. "Sorry." I closed the doors of the cage and locked it. I snap back to reality and harshly turned to Hiccup trembling form.

"Remember... a dragon will always ,always, will go for the kill...." Gobber sternly told Hiccup.

I wanted to object but I've brought enough attention to myself and I feel Hiccup don't need this right now. I neared the two and kneeled beside the trembling teen.

"Hiccup. Let's go..." I whispered only to him. He nodded weakly, blinking as his eyes clouded by confusion and a tinge of fear. I frown and turned back to Gobber whilst helping Hiccup up.

"This is enough right? We'll be leaving, now." A bitter tone lace within my voice as I start walking out.

I made sure to make Hiccup go first because when I was sure he was out of hearing range, I turned to Astrid.

"Thanks for the help, Astrid."
