"I'm so glad you all made up. I've been waiting so long for this house to be filled with new souls." Mr Hoseok yelled in delight, his smile shaping like a heart. Mr Namjoon rolled his eyes, escaping the hug. I watched him dust himself of, which wasn't really a confidence booster.
"Jin why don't you go get dinner started? They must be famished." Mr Namjoon suggested, but he wasn't wrong, I only ate half an apple today.
"You don't have a cook?" Jungkook asks, watching Jin shake his head. "Nope. I take pride in my cooking. Wanna come learn some of my recipes?" Jin offered.
Jungkook nodded his head excitedly.
"Would I?!" He yelled, about to follow Jin to the kitchen but got held back when Mr Namjoon grabbed a hold of his forearm.
"Before you go Jungkook, I would like to have a talk with my new...sons."
The way he said that made me want to shiver. It was clear that the second Jin stepped out of this room he would be telling us his real side of the story. I glanced at Taehyung, and he was thinking the same as me. Jin was skeptical, he was gonna stay but when he heard Jungkook's stomach growl he immediately decided to go cook something.
"If I hear screams I'm divorcing you, so be nice. Hoseok, come help me get the ingredients ready. We can cook together tomorrow, Jungkook" Jin said.
Jungkook smiled, nodding his head.
Hoseok bowed. "Coming." And just like that, we were alone in the room with Mr Namjoon. It felt like there was eerie music playing in the background. His aura was so dark, it made me wonder if he wasn't satan himself. Disguised as a human to torment us while we were living here for our past sins.
He lightly pushed Jungkook towards us, wiping his hand off on his pants.
I watched him do so, waiting for Taehyung to make a snarky remark or just insult the man.
But Taehyung was quiet.
I looked at him and he was looking at the floor, unbothered by the predicament we were in. It was so like him to tune out his surroundings at the last second.
"Let's make one thing clear children." Mr Namjoon's voice swept across the room like a deadly wave, threatening to turn into a tsunami.
"My husband has a soft heart. It's totally like him to take in three helpless little boys who saved him from a bunch of thugs."
Jungkook tilted his head.
"He's done this before?" He bluntly asked, legitimately asking. Mr Namjoon rolled his eyes. "No. And I would've liked it if he kept it that way. All of this because he can't understand sarcasm." Mr Namjoon rubbed his temples.
Taehyung shrugged.
"He gets my sarcasm just fine. You must be doing it wrong." Taehyung said.
Mr Namjoon laughed.
"You. I'd love to see how long you think Jin will put up with you."
"He's been doing great so far." Taehyung rolled his eyes ignorantly.
Mr Namjoon stepped closer, leaning into our faces. "Listen, you three are bright, that much I can tell. So how about we make a deal?"
"What kind of deal?" I ask, stepping back a little.
Mr Namjoon smiled.
"Six months, you'll all be gone. I'll make sure of that. But just so you guys don't get attached during those six months, I'll put money on it."
I scoffed.
"We don't want your mo-" but I felt a hand cover my mouth.
"How much?" Taehyung smirked.
"Four billion won. Each." Mr Namjoon smirked back.
Jungkook gasped. Audibly.
"Each? What do you do for a living that makes you so sure that this won't leave you in any sort of debt?" Jungkook asked, genuinely concerned.
Mr Namjoon laughed again, the laugh staying low and as monotonous as possible. "It won't even leave a dent."
Then it came to my mind. What does Mr Namjoon and Jin do? Being able to just give away 12 billion won requires a high net worth and high recourse. Who are these men really?
"Okay. Four billion each. Plus accommodation for the three of us for the next three years." Taehyung deviously smiled, much to Mr Namjoon's annoyance.
"What? Why?" Mister Namjoon asked.
"School. We'll probably be admitted by your husband shortly after our stay. That's inevitable. And as soon as those six months are up we want you to give us our money, a place to live and we'll be out of your hair. If you want you can include a car...if you're feeling generous of course." Taehyung smirked.
Mr Namjoon laughed. "I see why Jin compares you to me.
He turned around, ready to leave.
"I'll allow it. Twelve billion. A car. And an apartment near the school Jin is gonna admit you in, in about two weeks." But Taehyung clicked his tongue.
"You just said apartment. I'd prefer if you had said something around the lines of high ceilings, large rooms, and high-quality materials throughout this 'apartment' you're trying to sell us here." Taehyung smirked deviously, his eyes glaring at Mister Namjoon.
But Mr Namjoon shrugged.
"Understood. Whatever gets you out of my house."
"One more thing-"
"Pushing it."
"Cope. You'll be paying for the apartment of course. The whole three years. And those are all our demands. After we leave you'll never see us again. We'll have disappeared from you and your quirky husband's lives forever. Deal?"
"Deal." And like that, Mr Namjoon left the room.
I looked at Taehyung and hit his shoulder.
"You can't just negotiate with a billionaire so causally!" I whisper shouted.
He shrugged.
"Bro probably own Earth I don't know. I'm thinking he's like a trillionaire at the very least. He just offered us 12 billion each plus other expenses that could round up to like 33 billion won." Jungkook said, using his fingers to do the math.
"Might as well not be homeless after we're kicked out. I'm gonna go explore." Taehyung blunty said, walking off with his hands rested in his pockets.
I sighed, following Jungkook to the kitchen.
It was bigger than any house I'd ever seen in our neighborhood. The marble table was stacked with food, the cabinets were well polished and probably packed with groceries and the fridge...ohh that fridge...it was so clean and shiny. And big and pretty.
"Come join me!" Jin yelled.
"Yeah!" I smiled.
"Let's get it!" Jungkook cheered.
