hermione bit her glossed filled lips as she stared at herself in the full length mirror. her brown eyes scanning the girl that faced her. she lightly ran her fingers though the lace of the wedding dress that covered her figure. and she slightly raised her toes so she can feel how uncomfortable her feet felt in the three inch shoes.
she didn't look like herself. standing in the floor length white dress with the vail covering her face, she didn't feel like the hermione granger, who was harry potter's bestfriend and the fiancé of ron weasley. her stomach was in knots, and she could feel her head growing a pain on its side.
she had a sudden urge to cry at the thought of walking down the aisle, having hundreds of eyes perice her as she walked down it, so she did the only logical thing she could think of.
she grabbed a quill, wrote some words down, threw her heels off to the side, and apparated away without thinking.
she found herself at a nearby muggle coffee shop.
she opened the doors without another option. she sits down at a nearby table, not even seeming to notice the eyes that were being casted upon her, upon the white dress that hung tightly around her body.
and she finds herself enjoy the silence that presented her, as she drank the warm beverage, feeling slightly less guilty about leaving her best friend on the alter.
but of course, that was short lived.
hermione saw him before he saw her, his red hair prominent with the blandness outside the window. ducking underneath the table, as if that would hide her, she gets up from her table, bare feet and all, and looks around the small cafe and sits at the only table that had only one campanion.
he was sitting alone, seeming to be waiting for no one in particular, a notebook laid before him. hermione sat down steadily in the chair that sat in front him and covered her face with a near by menu booklet.
she held it up onto her face till she stopped hearing the voice of ron and she finally put the menu down. she was met with grey eyes.
he had been watching her the whole time.
hermione looks at the man in front of her and analyzes him for a minute before putting her arm out, "how rude of me, i'm hermione granger and i just ran away from my own wedding." she said bluntly, and draco takes his eyes off of her face and he finally scans her attire.
he looked bewildered for a second before looking back at her.
she was scanning her menu to get rid of the tension.
it was quiet after that, but hermione found herself not moving an inch from her spot, even though ronald was long gone but it didn't seem like the mystery man seemed to mind.
after an hour in his presence, hermione gets up from her chair and starts to head to the door.
"my name's draco. draco malfoy." she hears the man speak for the first time since she sat at his table and she finds herself sitting right back down at the table again.
