hermione didn't really want to go but, of course here she stood, in the freezing cold on a early saturday morning in his scarf, that he made her wear, and for merlin sakes, was she tired.
she suppressed a yawn and looked around the field; where slytherins were practicing, passing around a tiny ball back and forth.
she was one of the only gryffindors in the stands watching. there was two other people watching and they were of course slytherins. hermione felt slightly out of place in her red and gold gryffindors robes and her green scarf that he oh-so-wanted her to wear.
she sighed and looked the other way toward the castle, knowing her two bestfriends were either sleeping in or eating in the great hall and she also couldn't help but feel slightly jealous of them at the moment, she was out here in the forty degree weather while they were in there probably wanting to take off their cloaks from the heat in the castle.
she curses draco, for basically begging her to come watch him practice and she also curses herself, for allowing him to get under her skin and say yes to his proposal.
a small whistle blown in the distance breaks hermione from her thoughts. the practice is starting, she thinks. watching from her respected spot; the players getting in their positions.
her boyfriend standing out like a sore thumb, with his blond hair and his expensive broom that he insisted was an essential when playing quidditch,
"its necessary granger, seekers are meant to be fast so why not have a fast broom just to help a little bit"
it's funny, how after the war, all she needed to cure her depression and sadness from the war was a boyfriend. that wasn't at all what she thought the answer would be, and draco malfoy no less. but obviously here she was six months into her eight year and she was a happy as can be.
or as happy as she can be after helping defeat the most feared dark wizard in the wizarding world.
and imagine her bestfriends' faces when she had told them, that she was dating their worst enemy. hermione laughs silently at the memory,
"what do you mean you're "dating" malfoy?" harry says, after the long silence that overlapped the golden trio
"it's what i just said harry. i'm dating draco and nothing will make me think otherwise!"
hermione focuses her eyesight back at the team in front of her. and smiles at the happiness that was passing over her boyfriend's face. and he turns right at that moment to looked at her and he smiles in return.
and for the next hour, hermione sat there patently -still cold- until the practice was finally over, still wearing draco's scarf.
