—"when will i be able to meet your parents?" that statement makes hermione stop dead in her tracks
"my parents?" hermione repeats, she bites her lip to prevent her from shrieking.
they had been dating for only a few years and draco has never mentioned her parents before
"hermione. it can't be that bad, hermione" you have no idea, hermione thinks. draco furrows his eyebrows at her questioning look as she looks at the ground, looking at his polished black shoes,
"yes! it will be!" hermione suddenly let's out and she steps away from the boy, leaving to their room.
at the sound of the click draco just sighs and looks at where hermione once stood.
—it was a week later, and draco hasn't brought up the topic of her parents and hermione was quite relieved, maybe he forgot about it, she thought but obviously he didn't.
after a peaceful walk after lunch, hermione and draco sit down on the white couch that rested across from their floo network, which they would sometimes use to go to their said jobs, and hermione felt draco put his hand on her knee.
he puts his mouth to her ear and blows softly, making her squirm, at his touch, and giggle, a light giggle. "hermione?" he whispers into her ear, "can i see your parents?" and maybe it was the the closeness from where he sat or maybe it was the warmth that radiated her body with his, she found herself saying yes without even thinking and she quickly puts her hands over het mouth, like that would make him forget that she just agreed.
draco just looks at her with excited eyes, and gasps, "seriously!" he shouts out loud and hermione just looks at him with a mixture of shock and nervousness, and she slowly nods her head, knowing that he wasn't going to give up anytime soon.
and then she sees draco get off the couch and quickly sprint into their bedroom.
feeling the warmth that was once by her side disappear.
—draco was insistent that they go; the upcoming sunday, he put on his best suit that he owned and grabbed hermione's hand giving it a little squeeze and he disapparates them to a nearby floral shop that was just across the way from diagon alley, he had a smile on his face the whole time.
and hermione just stares at him with a sad look on her freckled face, she didn't want to see his expression when she finally took him to see her parents.
when draco finally gets his flowers, he takes his hand for hermione to take, and with a shaky hand. she does.
hermione's feet land with a loud crushing sound as she reached the ground. she looks around at her surroundings and let's a tiny tear escape her brown eye as she feels draco put his hand on her shoulder on a comforting way.
she didn't want to look at him, she didn't want to see his face. she didn't want to see the sad look that he was most likely giving her but she risked it, sneaking a glance at the taller slytherin.
but to her surprise, he didn't look at all like she thought he would look, he was just looking at the grave stones that had discoloring flowers on them and he then he looks down at her, and wipes that tears that were starting to form around her eyes.
and he hugs her, he doesn't say anything. he didn't have to.
after a few moments of their embrace, hermione regains herself and she slowly walks toward the grave stone that held her parents. she knew the way like the back of her hand.
she steps aside, so she can let draco, have a moment with her resting parents. and she could just cry all over again when she sees him put the roses on their graves and he slowly takes out his wand, conjuring a small wreath with the roses.
and hermione just stares at the floral wreath, feeling the thump of her heart beat in her ears, she slowly goes into hug him. her head on his shoulder as he put a comforting arm around her.
and they stood there in their embrace for what felt like hours, feeling safe in each other's arms.
