"miss granger!" he gives her a pointed hand gesture for her to speak, "it's amortentia sir." she let's out a breath, "it's the most powerful love potion in the world. it's rumored to smell differently to each person, according to what attracts them."
draco pulls his head up at the comment, and he scruffs at the ground with his foot, trying to hide his interest from his housemates, "for example i smell freshly mowed grass," draco's eyebrows raise, who would smell of grass, he thinks
"and parchment and spearmint..." draco quickly puts his head back down at her wavering voice, but he still catches her mumble the last part, "toothpaste."
once hermione finishes, draco tunes out the rest of the class, but draco was thinking about who might be granger's soulmate and how odd the person must be to smell of grass, toothpaste, and parchment.
but beknown to draco, it was him. hermione had smelled him in her amortentia.
hermione had smelled draco's spearmint toothpaste, draco's longing scent of old parchment, and draco's daily walk through the garden, by the great lake.
