She breathed heavily, her heart pounding in her chest, pleading to escape. Her phone began ringing incessantly, the familiar yet somewhat distant ringtone resounding in her ears as she picked it up with shaking hands.
"H-hello?"
She wished she gazed at the caller's ID before picking up.
"Yo, Rie!" the ever-energetic voice of Nejire Hado rang through the phone, though it quickly faltered as she heard her ragged breaths. "Huh? Rie, what's wrong?"
