"What the hell is wrong with you?" snapped the boy, "my old man has nothing to do with-"

The boy flinched as cement was launched at him, tumbling back.

"Whaddya mean, 'it has nothing to do with it'?" he echoed, "to me, Heroes are passionate! With their passionate hearts, they bring hope and inspiration to people! But he was different! Nothing came through in those eyes except a cold, cold anger! And then, at the entrance exam, I saw you and I knew who you were immediately, because you had the exact same eyes!"

"The same?" he scoffed, "don't make me laugh. I'm not the same as him."

That's enough... stop listening to him... he just hates Endeavor, which is fair... he gritted his teeth, focus on the exam! Don't lose your cool, you've already overcome your relationship with the old man... no... there's still some hate towards him...

His left side flickered with flames.

Focus on the exam!

"Todoroki... doesn't usually show his emotions, from what I've seen," Karasuma observed, "correct me if I'm wrong, Eraser, but he dislikes Endeavor?"

"No, you're right," agreed the man, "if this continues..."

"What are you doing with a Villain in front of you, huh?" Orca growled, walking towards the pair.

"You and your dad are the only Heroes I won't accept no matter what, the end, period!"

Focus...

They repeated their attack.

"You really are-"

Todoroki stiffened, watching as the flames head towards and unknowing Rie and Shindo, who had just started to regain consciousness. Feeling the oncoming heat and wind, the pair whirled around, whisked away by Midoriya who grabbed the pair, glaring at them.

"What the hell are you two doing?!"

He crashed into the floor, coughing and momentarily apologising to the dazed pair who sat up, coughing as they glanced over.

Everything just comes back to him, huh... damnit...

"First..." Orca began, appearing behind the male, his eyes widening as he jumped out of the way, "I'll take care of the wind..." He sent a sonar attack towards Inasa, the male falling to the ground.

"Oi-"

"And now for you," Orca growled, grabbing the boy by the throat and repeating the attack close-range, releasing him.

This isn't good... our abilities just aren't compatible at all... and we've got zero teamwork... because of that, I ended up almost hurting...

He shook those thoughts off.

Oi... if you feel the same way as I do... he swallowed, activating his left side, from the bottom... scoop it out!

The wind-user slowly glanced up.

I can't put any strength into it... but I have to do this!

The pair's attacks managed to trap him in a tornado of flames, the sidekicks halting in their tracks and shooting them with cement guns.

"Simultaneous activation of left and right... I still need to practice more, it's draining and slows me down... but if I can't move, then it doesn't matter."

"Go! Fight the Villains!"

Summoning a grappling hook, she managed to rope up a small group of them, her eyebrows furrowing as she felt the air grow cooler around them. Her golden orbs gazed to the side, watching as Todoroki and Inasa's Quirks died down. Watching him loom over them, her and Midoriya darted to the Hero, the girl summoning a pair of swords and swinging them at his left arm, Midoriya throwing a kick to his right.

You...

The alarm blared.

"Uh... at this point, all of the H.U.C. who were deployed have been rescued from the danger zone..." Mera yawned, "it seems arbitrary, but... with this, all of the exam procedures have been completed."

"We're done?"

"After we tally the scores, we will announce the results immediately, and those who were injured should go to the infirmary. The rest of you should change and stand by. That is all."

She turned to the boy, holding a hand out.

"Can you stand?"

He swallowed.

"Yeah."

He couldn't stand to look at her in the eyes.
