The man released him from his tight grip, the scarf ravelling back around his neck as he closed his eyes, the boy hanging his head lowly.
"I've returned your Quirk, I'll be nice and give you another turn at it," he scowled, turning back to his previous spot, "get on with it."
The silence was lethal, the girl fidgeting as she kept her gaze on the man in front, silently watching as he stared at the ball in his hands. He bit his lip, positioning himself as he threw the ball. His hand reached behind him, launching the ball into the sky as his fingertip glowed scarlet red for a second. He threw the ball, the man gazing at his device, sighing as he adjusted his scarf.
"705.3," he stated blandly, the boy grinning in victory.
"See? I can still move!" The man forced a smirk as he gazed at the boy with slightly condescending eyes. He clutched his wrist tightly, the students noting that his finger had turned a maroon brown. The blonde boy from before fumed, storming up to him.
"Oi, Deku! Why'd you lie to me for all these years, I thought you were Quirkless?!"
Quirkless?
"Explain yourself!" he roared, continuing forward with a dangerous glint in his eyes. The boy flinched, turning around as he made to attack him. However, before any further damage could be inflicted, a scarf wrapped around him, forbidding him from attacking further. He gritted his teeth, gazing back at the discontent Hero.
"While you're here, don't force me to use my Quirk too much," he warned, "it causes too much dry eye."
The students fell silent, the scarf returning to Eraser Head as he sighed, his eyes returning back to normal. He fished around in his pocket, taking out a projector, which projected their results from the test. Rie's eyes travelled up, eyes widening in slight shock.
"First place, huh?" she whistled, "not bad."
There was silence as people began murmuring about their placings, wondering how they could improve.
"Oh, and by the way, I was lying about whoever was in last place being expelled," Aizawa informed suddenly, the students yelling at him for being so careless with his claims and threats, the man merely smirking at the class. He walked away, beckoning for Rie to follow. She did so, gazing back at her class as they stared back at her. She followed him and was now face-to-face with-
"All... Might?"
The No. 1 Pro Hero stood there with thumbs up, a large man with a well-defined physique, his short hair swept backwards. He had two distinct tufts that stuck above his head, leaning slightly to each side. He wore a yellow jacket lined with black over his white shirt, blue jeans tight on his legs. A blue tie was visible as he gave crossed his hands over his chest, a wide grin spreading across his face.
"Congratulations on first place, Hassake-"
"Thank you, All Might, but I would prefer it if you just referred to me as 'Rie'," she narrowed her eyes challengingly, the man bowing his head in respect. Eraser Head sighed, lowering his head as he gazed back up at the pair.
"Right, you gained first place for the assessment," noted Aizawa, the girl's eyes still trained on the Pro Hero in caution, "and assuming what you and Edge have told us, your academics are exceptionally h-"
"I'm confused." He raised a brow, not particularly happy about her interruption. Seeing this, she muttered a small apology as she continued. "What's All Might doing here?"
"I am here, teaching the Hero Studies Course, Hassake," he beamed, giving her a thumbs-up sign as she sweat-dropped, nodding slowly as she turned back to her homeroom teacher, who was starting to get irritated, "continue, Aizawa."
"Right. As I was saying, your academics are exceptionally high, as are your practical skills. It's up to you if you want to stay in Class 1-A or move up into the Third-Year Class." He stared at her as she blankly returned the stare. "I'm not going to rush you, but be sure to give your answer by the end of the month."
"I'll give it a try, but I still need to get into the swing of things," she eventually concluded. He nodded, satisfied with her answer as a ghost of a smile appeared on his face.
The rest of the day went smoothly, with many people congratulating her for her achievement, much to her embarrassment. She quickly - albeit hesitantly - made multiple friends, who were all interested with her Quirk and personality. The end of the first day of school came to a close and as she walked to the school gates, a voice called out to her.
"Rie! Wait up!"
She turned to face a round-faced girl with brown hair in a bowl cut. Beside her was the boy with glasses, and Midoriya.
"Do you guys wanna walk to the station together?"
"O-oh, I'd love to... but I walk home," she laughed awkwardly, frowning as the girl's excited demeanour fell, "but it's on the way to the station, so I can walk with you guys there."
"Yay!" she clapped her hands, excited as the girl sweat-dropped awkwardly.
"So... Midoriya... what's your first name? Aizawa called you 'Izuku' but that blonde kid called you 'Deku'," she frowned.
"A-ah, it's Izuku... but Kacchan calls me 'Deku' since it means 'can't do anything'," he trailed off uncomfortably, the girl noticed, "he used to bully me in middle school...."
"You two went to the same middle school, huh?" she hummed. He nodded, giving her a dejected smile.
"Oh, but 'Deku' sounds like 'deriku'..." mused the girl, "I think it would make a great Hero Nam-"
"I'm Deku!"
The boy and girl sweat-dropped at his sudden change of opinion in the name 'Deku', claiming that was his name. The pair followed them - who couldn't help but be shipped together - as the glasses boy turned to her.
"So, Rie, what middle school did you come from?"
She pursed her lips, stating that she was homeschooled during 'middle school' or 'junior high' and was recommended into U.A. by Edgeshot, much to their shock.
"A-as in... the Number 5 Hero?!" whisper-yelled Midoriya excitedly, the girl sweat-dropping at his enthusiasm as his eyes shone brightly, the girl nodding as they rounded the corner, an all-black building coming into sight. It towered above the rest, but it was still a relatively smaller house (space-wise) and it was roomy enough for the girl.
"Holy... this is where you live? Can I come over sometime?" Midoriya and Uraraka questioned eagerly.
"A-ah, I'll have to ask my parents first," she sweat-dropped, though she knew that even if she did ask them, there's no way they'll let one of her 'Hero friends' enter the house. She waved to them, watching as the trio crossed the road and walked further down to the train station. She smiled, entering the house and cautiously placing her bag down.
"Welcome home, sis." She smiled, turning to face her older brother with a wide smile. He lowered his voice, a sly smirk occupying his features. "Heard you got recommended into U.A."
She beamed.
