CHAPTER 5 - NEVER BE ALONE

I want to mutter a curse, I want to swear every person affiliated to what's happening right now. I want to scream. I want to cry my anger out.

But there's no way to be weak.

"Oh," I looked up then I saw Edward handing each one of us a mug.

"What's that?" I asked.

"Siguro toyo," He quickly mocked that made my brows furrowed, "Of course, tubig!" He finally said.

"Sa tasa na pala nilalagay tubig ngayon?" Pambabara na naman ni Riann.

"Aba, malay ko bang hindi umiinom ng tubig sa tasa ang mga mayayaman. Malay ko din ba na 'di naghuhugas ng baso ang mayayaman, 'di ba?" He sat on the carpet drinking the water on his mug after I took mine from him and thanked him.

A moment of silence almost swallowed us.

"I told you na don't plan to investigate pa, e', dami niyong say!" Inis na pagbasag ni Riann sa katahimikan.

"Planned investigation or not, there's no way out of this hell." Dwaynell uttered, massaging the bridge of his nose.

This is the first time I saw and heard Dwaynell to be this mad and cold. He looks so intimidating and frightening. The soft and calm Dwaynell quickly faded.

"Why are you so scary right now? It seems like, you're not the Dwaynell we knew." I uncomfortably said.

"W..walang pagkain..?" Nag-aalinlangang biro ni Edward pero naupo nalang siya ulit ng maayos nang tingnan siya ng matalim ni Dwaynell.

"The freaking poem sent in the freaking forum told us that for freaking fifty days we can't go out from this campus and can never go out when we lose that freakin' game. That means, I will not be able to see my parents, especially my baby sister, so this is really freakin' suspicious." Mabilis niyang pag-explain.

"N-naintindihan mo?" Narinig kong bulong na may halong pangangalabit pa ni Riann kay Dwight at tumango naman si Dwight.

"P-pwede namang bawasan ng kaunti 'yung 'freaking' minsan kasi wala 'kong ma-gets," Sabi pa ni Edward pero natahimik ulit nang tingnan na naman siya ng matalim ni Dwaynell.

"Minsan kasi bawasan rin 'yung daldal," Bulong pa ni Riann.

"Pareho lang kayo, oldest and youngest pa." I also said.

Dwaynell's a family-oriented person, I think.

"Pwede naman sigurong manahimik no'? We're almost a month in this school then one month pa lang, may ganito na, pwede bang magseryoso muna? Ha?" Mas nakakatakot na ang tono ng pananalita ni Dwaynell ngayon.

Edward stood up and tapped Dwaynell's shoulder, "Minsan kasi, pre, 'wag masyadong negativ-"

"Seryoso na nga daw muna, Edward, e'! 'Di mo ba gets?" Sigaw ni Riann at tumayo na rin.

"Excuse me? I'm not the only one who's talkative here!" Edward fired back.

I sighed and directly stood up, "So, mag-aaway pa tayo?! Ngayon talaga sa sitwasyong 'to? Ha?!"

"Sila lang naman 'yung maingay na akala mo walang nangyayari-"

Dwaynell got cut off by Riann as Riann said, "Takot na nga ako, e'! Hindi ako malakas sa ganito, tapos isusumbat mo 'yung pagka-ingay ko o namin na tanging nakakapagpagaan ng loob k-"

I saw the redness of Edward when I gave a glance on him, seeing his fist clenched made me scared, "Oh, edi magsisihan kayo! Tayo, sige! Magsisiha-"
