Chapter 7 - Living Nightmare

CHAPTER 7: LIVING NIGHTMARE

After all, I'm still left dumbfounded, stunned, and I don't know what I did. I was a whole different person earlier.

"Investigating was the plan but hiding -- dying is what this school brings us." Dwaynell said, looking down directly on the floor.

"We're safe for 14 hours, what are we gonna do?" Riann asked.

I'm looking into the unknown, lost in my thoughts, trying to figure out everything, "No more regular classes, no more required wearing of uniforms, no more strict but normal school rules, a-and no more..."

"No more what?" Edward asked, I quickly looked at him.

"No more staffs, workers, no more maintenance personnel," Dwight said but stopped for a while and I saw his eyes both looking at each one of us, "No more teachers."

The four of us fixed our positions as we think of what Dwight said to continue what I was uttering.

"What do you mean?" Riann asked.

"Perplexing," Dwaynell immediately responded, "Strange. There's something about the school staffs, workers, maintenance, authorities and even teachers." Dwaynell explained.

Dwight stood up while looking at us, "Let's go."

We walked through the corridors while following Dwight, it is pretty uncomfortable to walk normal like nothing happened.

Lutang akong sumunod kay Dwight, para kaming mga estudyanteng pinapila papuntang guidance. Nasa likod ako ni Dwight na parang batang gina-glide ang mga daliri sa bawat window casing na nadadaanan namin.

Ramdam kong para kaming domino dahil sunod-sunod na nabangga sina Riann, Edward, at Dwaynell sa likod ko nang bigla akong huminto dahil may naramdaman akong malagkit sa kamay ko. Naramdaman naman agad ni Dwight na huminto kami kaya siya mabagal na naglakad pabalik sa 'min.

I nearly chuckled while they're irritatedly mumbling to what I did, but my mood suddenly changed when I saw a big bubble gum sticking onto my right hand's fingers.

"Jeez! So gross!" I groaned out of annoyance, I don't know how to get rid of this easily!

"Hala, parang nanguya na 'yan ng ten years, ah." Edward and Dwaynell laughed.

I rolled my eyes.

Napatingin naman ako kay Riann na mukhang nandidiri din. I looked up and saw a near restroom, so I immediately went there to wash this disgusting gum off. Fortunately, it's easy to take it off and I didn't see someone dead inside the restroom.

Winasiwas ko ang kanang kamay ko para matuyo ng mabilis habang naglalakad pabalik sa mga kaibigan ko. My brows furrowed when I saw them, all looking at something like different.

"What's that? Inspecting the gum?" I jokingly asked.

"Here," Dwight said while handing me a piece of paper. "Thankfully, your fingers caught that disgusting gum, it led us to finding another clue." He added.

I opened the paper and read it, "Everyone thinks I give comfort, everyone thinks they can rest. But anyone could think I'm a forbidden fort, and a place with living nightmares."

Napaisip kaming lima sa sinasabi nu'ng nasa papel pagtapos kong basahin. Nagtinginan kami ng halos ilang segundo lang naman nang biglang nangalabit si Edward.

"What?" I said.

"'Yung dahilan kung bakit nagkakilala tayong lima," He said, my brows just furrowed out of confusion.
