Chapter 15 - Work Together

CHAPTER 15: WORK TOGETHER

Dwaynell gave me the master key card while still looking up. I placed the master key card in my jacket's front pocket.

"G-guys.." Riann uttered.

"Riann, the photo of the map, please?" Dwight said and Riann immediately gave her phone to Dwight but she's still looking up to the shiny, metal and huge door.

Dwight grabbed the phone Riann gave him and his eyes are searching, like, he's reading something, "Main entrance, quadrangle, first campus, College Department campus," He whispered and stopped for a while to rotate the screen,

"..bridge, canteen, dormitory, chapel, auditorium, gymnasium, another building-"

"Wait," I said, "Another building?" I asked.

"Iyan na 'yon, guys, we're near to freedom! That's the abandon-"

Riann immediately covered Edward's mouth with her right hand and looked at him sternly.

"Shush, Hide or Die!" Riann whispered.

"That's the abandoned building, I mean, this." Edward pointed the door, "Ito lang naman ang malapit sa gym," Edward whispered after Riann took her hand off his mouth.

We looked at each other, chuckled, and smiled. I almost cried because of the idea that we're near to grasping freedom!

"Wait, pa'no naman natin nalaman at nasabing dito ang lugar na makakapagpalabas sa 'tin?" I suddenly asked.

"'Luh, oo nga 'no?" Edward agreed.

"There are no other doors or places to sneak in to get out of here," Dwaynell said, we nodded slowly.

We scanned and observed the huge door in front of us. Naglakad ako sa harap ng malaking pinto na 'to para puntahan kung nasaan ang door knob o kung ano mang magbubukas sa pinto na 'to.

I gasped. "Anak ng-"

Nagulat kaming lima, napaupo pa si Riann, at kita kong nanlaki ang mga mata nina Dwaynell, Dwight, at Edward nang magbukas ang malaking pinto, napatingin ako sa bulsa ng jacket ko nang may umilaw sa isang pinto na kulay green, naitapat ko pala ang master key card kaya naghiwalay ito sa dalawa at mabagal bumukas.

Natauhan kaming lima at agad na sinuot muli ang mga hood ng mga jacket namin, hinawakan ang mga arrows at baseball bats namin. Napatakip naman kami ng mga tainga ng marinig na nag-iingay ang pinto.

"Come in! Go, go!" Dwaynell commanded and we did.

Pumasok kami agad kahit na alam naming danger na naman ang naghihintay sa amin dahil makaka-attract ng attention ang ingay na 'to.

"Bea! Close the door!" Dwight said, still covering his ears.

"With what?!" I asked, aloud.

"The master key!"

When Dwight told me that thing, I almost sacrificed my sense of hearing just to place the master key in front of the sensor. The loud noise of the huge door decreased its volume when it's already closing, finally.

Hinihingal naming tiningnan ang pinto habang sumasara ito. Natauhan naman ako lalo nang kalabitin ako ni Edward.

"L-look..." We turned around because Edward pointed something.

I gulped.

It's very large, creepy, and melancholic building just like a High School campus, but it's actually abandoned. It doesn't smell nice yet it smells like dried blood. Gate pala ang malaking pinto na pinasukan namin, pero ang mismong pinto, nandito pa. Leaves and bushes are all over the place, we're in a place where there are no lights, no hiding places and worst, no way out. Dwaynell took his phone from his pocket and turned on the flash light.
