The weekend passed flew by, with me spending bonding time as usual with my family by cooking and baking cookies, as well as finishing all the Harry Potter movies. Deandre's actual birthday was that Sunday, but all he wanted to do after his shift was to go home and rest -- so Leilani, Sasha and I studied together at the diner while he worked to wait for him to blow out the candles and have some cake before heading home to prepare for the school week.

Mondays were rough, especially with organising the week's to-do lists. With the Film Festival and Christmas Assembly on my mind, it was nearly impossible to focus during MUN after school. I usually enjoyed MUN, for the same reasons I enjoyed History and social science studies, but there were definitely days like these as well where I was done with meetings.

The Chair had posed the debate regarding the legalisation of marijuana, and as I was representing the Delegation of the Bahamas this round, I had to prepare arguments against it.

"... remaining time to the Delegate of Uruguay."

I glanced at Sasha, who was supposed to start proposing her points. But she seemed spaced out, frowning over her paper.

"Uruguay?" The Chair repeated.

Sasha snapped to attention then. "I'm sorry. The Delegation of Uruguay believes that..."

It was a tricky topic especially with the Delegation she was representing, but I hadn't seen her so... distracted before. It seemed like something else was bothering her, so I made a mental note to check on her after.

However, even after the rest of the MUN session dragged by, and I got held back with some student council members about some logistics for upcoming school events.

"I'm sorry, but I've really got to get my sister back home before my mom worries," I managed to say without my people-pleasing anxiety winning. Oh, the perks of having siblings. Using them as real excuses. "Do text the group chat though and maybe we could have a proper meeting?"

I found my little sister waiting for me outside the hall, doodling on her iPad.

"You're finally done," she commented flatly, clearly unimpressed by my tardiness. "It's been nearly twenty minutes since the first few people came out."

I winked. "Can't help that I'm popular."

She groaned. "Gross."

"Finally, we can go home," I sighed. "What a long day."

Noelle yawned. "Yep."

But when we headed towards the parking lot, I did a double take.

"What's wrong?" Noelle asked.

"That's definitely Sasha's car," I replied, starting to worry. "What is she still doing here?"

I hurried towards it, finding Sasha was slumped in the driver's seat, kind of curling in herself. I knocked on her door and she opened her eyes, her gaze blurry.

"Sasha?" I asked, forcing myself to not panic.

She managed to uncurl herself and unlocked the door, letting me open it.

"Sasha?" I repeated, now supporting her as she slumped towards me. "What happened?"

"Just period cramps," she mumbled. "I was planning on calling Lei... but then I got sleepy."

I frowned. I wanted to ask her what would've happened if no one had come to check on her, but it wasn't the time for that. "Are they usually this bad?"

She pressed a hand on her stomach. "I forgot to replenish the Panadols in my bag. Stupid of me."
