Ava

"KAI!" I call, glaring at all his clothes. This monster!

A confused Kai strolls into the walk-in closet, "Yes?" He leans against the frame with arms crossed.

I turn my glare on him, "what is this?" I point to the formal clothing, "where are your hoodies?"

Kai's brows furrow as he stares between me and his clothes, "they're my clothes and I don't have any,"

Gasping loudly, I stare at him in shook, "don't-don't have any?! What am I supposed to wear then?!" He is a disgrace.

"Your own clothes...?" Kai carefully says, walking towards me, "I have jumpers, but if you must wear my clothes you can wear this," he opens the second drawer, pulling out a black sweater. Disgusting!

Huffing I grab the sweater on my way back while making sure to mention, "This will not do, please order yourself some hoodies so I can steal them," how does one not have any hoodies?

I hear Kai following behind me, a spare blanket in his hand. We walk all the way to the back of the house, straight to the backyard. Since it was both of our day off I wanted to have a nice picnic, while stargazing and Kai's backyard was perfect, unnecessary big and empty, we should really do something with it.

A basket was already placed the middle, Kai walks ahead of me, laying the blanket out neatly and taking a seat, I quickly lay down besides Kai.

We settle into a comfortable conversation, enjoying each other company, then I decide to ruin the moment;

"Kai... Why is there no picture of your mum?" I ask, to be honest, I don't even know what his real mum looked like. I never asked about his mum, just in case it was a sensitive topic, just assumed she was with the man upstairs, which is very wrong....

I glance at Kai, noticing a small smile appear on his face as he looks up at the stars, "She never liked taking pictures, which is ironic considering it's part of our live,"  it really is.

The one time I let Kai take me to a fancy overpriced restaurant there was a bunch of men taking pictures, like why? Is this interesting to you...? And I never agreed to another date again, unless it was something causal and private.

Kai turns to me, a soft smile as he says, "She was beautiful, I have a picture of her in my office, we also have albums, I can show you if you want,"

I return his smile, "I would love to,"

All this suddenly got me thinking, "You ever wonder where we would be, if our paths never crossed," I think aloud, looking up at the bright stars.

"No, I don't need to, because I'm sure I would've found you eventually," Kai responds, turning back to the stars. Sap.

"I don't know, if you hadn't been having a bad day the first we met, where would you be and where would I be," complete different worlds. Even if Kai came to the cafe, he would never have given me a second glance, if he didn't know I was one crazy girl.

And I would just be another fangirl who daydreams about Kai, while he has no knowledge of my existence.

There's a silence before Kai responds, "I would probably be living at my office, not straying from the norm," yeah Kai's old life seemed really boring.

"That's your star right there and then right over here's mine," I point up at the sky, pointing at stars that were miles away from each other.

Kai reaches and grabs my outstretched hand, guiding it to somewhere in the middle, "no, that's us right there, just waiting to collide," pointing at two stars besides each other.

Smiling fondly I turn to Kai, what have I done to deserve him? Bringing my arm down I move towards Kai, "well, aren't you a cutie," placing my hands around Kai's face a I lean towards him, placing a gentle kiss besides his lips.

.

.

"Ava?!" Kai shouts, walking down the hall and straight to our bedroom.

I look up startled at the smiling and excited Kai, "what's going on...?" Why is he so happy?

Kai runs towards me, picking me straight out of bed and spinning around.

I wrap my arms around his neck, holding on, "why are we happy again?"

Kai puts me down on the bed, keeping his hands around me he finally says, "we won the case! You've got your property back," what...!

Gasping loudly I hug Kai, "that's-that's amazing! Finally,"

There might have been a few tears but let's not mention them, Kai places his forehead against mine, "it's all sorted now, everything is yours now,"

I'm rich...Finally!

I nod, with a smile on my face, "thank you Kai, I don't know if I could've done any of this without you,"

Kai leans forward and places a light kiss on my forehead, "I'm always here,"

Our moment is ruined when my phone starts beeping with notifications, I pull away to grab my phone from under the sheets,

Mother:
You won the the case, congratulations.
I'm really happy for you and truly sorry for the pain I've caused you, I hope you do something meaningful with your share.

"Something meaningful?" I hum, reading aloud, "I don't if my plan to open a chocolate factory is very meaningful..."

Kai laughs, walking to the closet, "it's yours, you can do whatever you want with it,"

I should probably thinking this through.... No harsh decision because I might end up poor again.

Well, I did promise to buy the cafe once I'm rich, just to spite Aiden, the cafes a good investment, they do well money wise. But the real question is, will Kai sell it?

We'll have to find out.
