"Ava, why are you late?" Aiden asks, while standing in front of the desks with his arms crossed

I hold up a finger and reached into my bag, "wait, I have a late pass," I hand him the piece of paper, while excusing myself.

But before I could pass by Aiden grabs the chain on my bag, pulling me back, "Ava. This is a expired gift coupon for The Cheesecake Factory."

I gasp, taking the paper from him, "what?! It's expired! I-I swear there was another month on this," Hearts been broken so many times.

I hear Aiden sigh, "it expired a year ago," oh...

I awkwardly laugh, "that's a shame... Oh wait!" Quickly pulling out my pocket sized notebook, which I turned into a coupon scrapbook, "I have more, what-"

He shakes his head, "I give up, just get to work please,"

"So you don't want a coupon...?" I am sure I have some new ones. Do I?

Never mind, I decide to just leave that thought there as I start my job, making drinks for grumpy people who either hate mornings or just life in general. Ahh, my favourite type of people.

Towards the end of my shift when it was starting to get quieter and I was just wiping the clean surface to look like I was doing something.

"Hi, black coffee please," a customer says, causing me look up at the women standing in front of me, she was dressed like a businesswoman, all professional and elegant. Damn if only I could do that.

I nod and proceed with the order, but while making the drink I could notice her staring, peeking glances while on her phone.

Should I ask her if she thinks I'm hot?

No... She's probably looking at me thinking I escaped from a mental hospital, did I even brush my hair...? I slowly reach up to touch my hair, finding it in two braids, seems normal to me. Wonder what her problem is?

I give her my fake smile and close the lid on her drink, walking back towards her, "here's your drink, ma'am,"

She looks up from her phone, "ah, thank you!" She quickly grabs the drink and was about to leave, but looks around for a few seconds before turning around, "I-I actually wanted to ask you something..."

Oh...

I nod, "erm... Sure, go ahead,"

She hesitates for a moment before asking, "I-I heard-"

Before she could continue, a new and familiar voice interrupts her, "Ava?"

I snap my head at the voice and groan in annoyance, the headache has arrived.

Ethan notices the lady and quickly apologises, "oh sorry, am I interpreting?"

The lady takes a glance at the two of us and shakes her head, quickly thanking me before walking out.
That wasn't weird at all...

I hear Ethan mumble something under his breath, "where have I seen her before...?"

"You know her?" I ask, confused. She could just be another one of Kai's admires, I get a lot of those. She doesn't exactly fit the image though.

Ethan shakes his head, "I don't, but I would love to," he says with a flirty smirk.

I roll my eyes at him, "yeah, I don't think she's your love interest,"
