"Sarah, I have a very important question for you," I say, biting into my toast. She nods, waiting for me to continue, "are you... a vampire?"

She gives me a confused look, so I clarify, "it's just, you're really fast, I look away for a second and you just disappear,"

I look up to find her silently laughing, "that does sound really cool, but no, I'm not a vampire," maybe she's a witch.

Still suspicious I nod, looking back down at my breakfast, but suddenly remembering something, I look back up, "oh-Ah!" Sarah was no longer standing there, but now replaced with Kai. Maybe this whole house is haunted or they're all a bunch of vampires.

Kai turns around startled, "Ava, You okay?" 

I nod, "perfect," not like I'm traumatised... "Where did Sarah go?" I ask, looking around the kitchen suspiciously, maybe I should I push her outside, when it's bright and sunny.

He stares at me confused, "she's left as I entered and I also greeted you good morning, but you ignored me,"

I gasp and stare at him offended, "you did not!"

"Ava, you've been day dreaming into her toast for like 5 minutes, you've been doing that a lot recently, are you okay?" He walks up to me, placing his cup on the table before, placing his palm on my forehead.

I pull away, "I'm fine, you can't check inside my brain by doing this, unless you have X-ray vision,"

He smiles while shaking his head, "I was checking for a fever, but you seem fine," he walks back to his seat, sipping on his coffee.

"Are you finally free from the burden of adulthood?" I ask, hoping I can finally get back on my schedule of annoying Kai daily.

He nods, "I'll be free from this weekend, back on my regularly schedule, so that means, if you've decided about Lon-"

I quickly grab my phone from the table, holding it against my ear, "hello Aiden! What? You want me to-" just then my phone rings...

I look up to find Kai, hiding his smile behind his mug.

While muttering, "I forgot to press answer," I answer the phone;

"Ava?" Aiden says on the other end. Wow, talk of the devil and he shall call you.

"Aiden! How-what..?" I stutter confused.

I hear him sigh before he continues, "I called to ask if you could come in an hour late today,"

Thinking, I stare at Kai who has his eyes narrowed at me, a smirk plastered on his face,

Narrowing my eyes back at him, I respond, "what? You want me to come in an hour early, of course I can do that!"

"What? Ava no-" Aiden tries.

"Well then, I'll see you soon, bye!" I cut the phone, not letting him finish and look back up at Kai, "well, I must get going love, sorry to cut this short,"
