TWELVE| "Mine?!"

"Where exactly are we going again?" I ask, staring down at the black dress Kai gave me to get changed into.

We spent the first few days exploring, Rhys decided to not join us because he didn't wanna third wheel, instead he went to meet some family or something.

But this morning, Kai came into the room with a black dress and a determined look in his eyes, it was way to early for this I thought as I tried going back to sleep, but failed.

"A funeral of a very dear friend of mine, well, she was more than a friend, but you know," Kai waves his hand around, fixing his suit.

"We're going to your ex's funeral..." I repeat, letting the information sink in. He called me to London, so we could go to his ex's funeral together... That's new.

Kai nods and gives me smile, "something like that,"

"Why are you smiling?!" I shout, putting my make-up away because I don't think this is very appropriate. There will be people grieving  and we're gonna turn up like those a rich old couples that's don't give a damn about anyone.

Kai looks back at me, "oh, you should look absolutely look your best, you never know exactly who we'll bump into," he suggests, I sigh and decide to just go with a simple look, just my brows and lashes should be fine, maybe some concealer.

I stand up and walk besides Kai, staring at us in the mirror, Kai grabs a hold my hand and interlocks them, "today is a big day Ava,"

I gasp and turn to him, "am I being lied to again?!" I should've known!

Kai laughs and shakes his bead, "I promise you, we're going to a funeral, but I still want you to prepare yourself and know that I'm right here, besides you," he gestures to the mirror and smiles.

I turn towards the mirror, looking at our reflection, Kai squeezes my hand, always here.

Taking a deep breath I nod, "okay let's do this Mr Frazier,"

Kai snorts and gestures to the door, "after you, Mrs Frazier,"

I huff and walk, grabbing my coat and bag on the way out, "As if, Let's say, another 6 years maybe," 6 years should be long enough to hold of real commitment.

"6 years?! You're gonna make me wait that long," Kai gasps, opening the door as we both walk out into the hallway.

I nod, putting my hand around Kai's arm, "indeed, if you can handle me 6 years, that's surely means something, right," I mean at least he didn't run of in the first month or even first meeting, that's a start.

Kai hums, "let's see then, what the future holds," we shall see.

"It really is a funeral," I say aloud once Kai pulls up at a funeral home, people dressed in black walking in. I gasp, did someone from my family die?

I gasp again, did Kai date one of my sisters?

Eww...That'd be really weird and a crazy coincidence

Kai taps my forehead, "stop jumping to conclusions, once we're inside, all your questions will be answered,"

I narrow my eyes and open the door, getting outside while Kai does the same and walks around to grab my hand, "ready?"

I stare at him like he's crazy, "ready?! I don't even know what for,"

Kai laughs and starts walking, "this is going to be fun," it really isn't.

As we were walking in I tried my best to see if there's anyone I could recognise even though nobody was really worth remembering. Okay that's a lie I still remember this really hot exchange student we had.

Shaking my head I decide to just give up searching, until I look ahead and see someone I thought and prayed I would never meet again, my school bully, Henry.

There he was, dressed in a black suit and looking down, he looks sad, why is he here?!

I start to look around, which catches Kai's attention and he leans down slightly to whisper, "see anything yet?"

I turn to him, "whose funeral is this?"

Kai nods ahead, I follow his direction to see a sign, causing me to gasp aloud, "Mine?!"
