I stood outside the door not even sure if I should knock or not. Damnit why do I have to be so scared?
"Darin come on you don't have to be scared she'll forgive you. Woooh okay here goes nothing." I rang the doorbell and waited. I rang it multiple times again after two minutes and waited again.
No one. I checked the time on my phone and realised it's currently 6am. They are probably sleeping. I sighed and turned but then heard the door knob creek. I turned around slowly and the door opened.
Suddenly I froze, what the fuck is wrong with me? I can't even breathe now. I cleared my throat and finally said something.
"Good morning"
"Hi"
"I'm sorry to wake you up but is Tamara at home I need to talk to her?" The young boy frowned at me.
"Who are you?"
"Oh I'm sorry. My name is Darin. Darin Kalanick."
"Your name sounds familiar." He looked as if he was thinking. "I'm Tyler her little brother." He held out his hand for me to shake.
"Nice to meet you man." We shook hands. Well he's nice.
"Come in." He opened the door and I got in. Their house isn't huge like ours but it's gorgeous. Everything is updated and shiny, big windows letting in natural light, soft white paint. It's neat too. "You can sit down I'll go try and wake her up. She's sleeping." I nodded and he ran upstairs.
My heart was racing and thoughts of running to my car clouded my mind. I took out my stress gum and chewed it then instantly relaxed. Tyler came back after 5 minutes looking fustrated.
"She doesn't wanna see me?"
"No she doesn't want to wake up. She's really sleeping man, I've tried but she just won't wake up. She's not a morning person. I don't know if you know that." He went to the kitchen. "Juice?"
"Water." I need to cool down.
"So are you guys friends?" He poured the water in a glass.
"Yes.....uhm well we were." He opened the fridge and took out an orange juice.
"And now?" He poured his juice and took our glasses then came my way.
"Thank you." He sat next to me and I drank my water instantly. "I left for an internship four months ago, she was so sad I was leaving her she didn't want me to leave. I'm not sure how she'll react when she sees me."
"So I'm guessing you recently came back?" I nodded. "My sister loves her friends and I'm sure you know since you guys were friends. I know she'll be happy to see you back." I hope so Tyler. "Do you play?" He pointed at his joysticks.
"Are you challenging me Tyler?" I'm the baddest in video games. He laughed and went to take them.
"We could pass time while we wait for her to wake up." I love this kid. "Okay let's kick your butt Darin." He said sitting down again.
"Oh dream on kid." We started playing.
Tamara's POV
I opened my eyes and got blinded by the sunlight. "Damn it Tyler" I rubbed my eyes and finally woke up. I wonder what Tyler wanted. I checked my phone and the time was 6:25am. "Aghhhh even after graduation I still wake up early." I kicked off my blanket and went to the bathroom. I quickly washed my face and brushed my teeth.
I took my phone and went downstairs with my pyjamas. I was wearing a black silky set with lace hems, a short and a vest.
"Dude that was cheating!" I stopped at my tracks. Wait Tyler doesn't have a deep voice like that.
