As soon as the door was opened, the gang were welcomed by the sweet refreshing smell of their home. They missed their underground safe haven, and the comfort and coziness of the small-ish base. It was big enough for the seven men, plus little Wooyoung, so it was enough for them.

They weren't extremely money hungry, but they did like to live comfortably. However, they were not greedy. They didn't need a big mansion like the Jung's—being only a family of three. It was a waste of space, whereas it could've been used for people on the streets who had no where to go.

Considering that four of the seven men were runaways, they never took what they had for granted. They cherished everything that landed in their hands because they had nothing to begin with. When they got their first bit of money, they saved it and continued to do so until they had enough to start fending for themselves properly.

It truly was every man for themselves when they were on their own. Though, when they met each other, everything changed drastically. The mindsets that had been engraved in their brains from their parents had been broken. There was a light at the end of the tunnel, and that light was the gang.

For Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yeosang and San, meeting each other was one of the biggest life-changing experiences. Forming the gang was another. They leaned on each other, after having no one at all. They were simply four broken boys from four broken homes.

The other three, however, had a completely different story.

Jongho came from a average working family that didn't have a lot of money, but had enough to give them a roof over their heads and food on a table. He loved his parents, but he needed to grow apart from them. As much as he was thankful for them, he didn't want their financial stress to weigh him down aswell. He wanted to live a decent life and not have to worry about feeding himself every night. So he left willingly, promising that one day, he would be back.

Mingi didn't necessarily run away from home, he ran away from an orphanage, that was the difference. He never knew his parents and for some reason, he was completely okay with that. They had given him up to the orphanage when he was a baby and were never heard from again. Maybe they were dead, maybe they weren't, Mingi didn't know and he also didn't care. However he hated the orphanage he was placed in. So right before his fourteenth birthday (literally a week before) he packed a bag of his few belongings and ditched the orphanage. He wanted to live freely, so he got a part-time job, stayed with a school friend and then met the newly formed gang a couple years later.

Yunho was the only one that never left his home as a child. He grew up in a situation that was exactly the opposite as  Wooyoung's, sort of. Yunho was never forced to pursue a career in something that could make his parents money and his family was far from rich, but they were mean. They would hit him, yell at him, or do anything physically or emotionally damaging, but they didn't control him. He had free will to pack a bag and leave, yet he didn't. Yunho stayed with his parents until he was seventeen and was looking for a small apartment. His mindset was set on the fact that since he had a house and a roof over his head, he should use it to his advantage. And that is exactly what he did.

"Do you want to have a shower?" San questioned the black-haired boy as they entered San's room.

"Yeah, is that alright?" Wooyoung hummed.

"Of course," San replied, handing Wooyoung a pair of the boy's sweatpants and one of his own sweatshirts. The sweatshirt would be rather big on him but Wooyoung didn't mind.

When Wooyoung went into the washroom, San left to go get a snack to eat. He grabbed a couple crackers and some water and sat at the dining table. It was rather quiet considering everyone was in their rooms either unpacking or having showers.
