Two weeks passed and they were far from an improvement. They were worse than any of the men had predicted. Sure, they knew that Wooyoung would need time to heal and get better, but they didn't realize that he would have the same reoccurring nightmare every night for two weeks.
He would wake up shaking, crying and yelling, only to be held and comforted by San. But he was progressively getting worse and worse.
Wooyoung didn't want to go to sleep because he knew he would have the same nightmare again, and he didn't know if he could handle it another time. The lack of sleep was apparent in the young boy. His eye bags were prominent, he looked almost ghostly and void of emotion. He was physically and mentally drained.
Though, as much as he didn't want to sleep, he was somewhat forced to.
The gang didn't want to see him suffer and by trying to prevent himself from sleeping, he was only inflicting more pain on himself.
But when he did fall asleep, the nightmare came back and he was wide awake, panting and sobbing once more.
San's arms were wrapped around him. Comforting him and bringing the small, fragile boy onto his lap to hug him closer.
"It's okay." He would say. "You're okay."
Was he trying to convince Wooyoung? Or was he trying to convince himself?
After two weeks, Wooyoung couldn't take it anymore. He didn't feel any better, he only felt worse. But he didn't want San to press pause and dropped everything to help him. He didn't want to be a burden.
"I'm sorry... I-I need a moment." Wooyoung wiped his tears and got off of San's lap.
San was quick to follow the boy who was determined to leave. He jumped to his feet and chased after Wooyoung, calling out for him to come back, but Wooyoung wasn't stopping.
"San what's going on? Why are you yelling?" Yunho groaned as he opened his door, trying to understand why there was a sudden ruckus, just outside of his room.
San stopped for a moment, turned to Yunho and sighed. "Don't worry about it, just go back to bed."
He then turned back towards the dining room, kitchen, and living room area, dashing down the hallway to see Wooyoung by the door.
"What are you doing?" San questioned.
Wooyoung turned around to face San before shaking his head quickly. "I need to get some air... I-"
"Can I come with you?" San questioned. "Well, actually I shouldn't ask that. I am coming with you."
"It's not like I would stop you." Wooyoung bit his lip and unlocked the door.
Wooyoung opened the door and stepped out, instantly shivering at the cold air. Nonetheless, he made his way up the stairs and out of the building, determined to clear his mind. No matter how cold it was, the temperature was not going to stop him.
San reluctantly followed behind, not wanting the young boy to go out on his own. He would never forgive himself if something happened to Wooyoung while he was out. The man already had to deal with his baby getting shot and being taken from him. Then he had to deal with his baby almost getting raped. It was all too much.
The man could notice how tense Wooyoung was, it was so obvious. He walked like he was frozen and could only move straight, though the cold air was playing a factor in that.
San quietly placed his sweater on the boy's shoulders, receiving no reply whatsoever.
"You looked really cold," San simply stated. He felt almost awkward, and he never felt awkward around Wooyoung. It made no sense.
