Hongjoong sat with his laptop on his lap almost all day and night, waiting for a message from the boy. However, nothing ever came.
He had stayed up until it was about 3am, on the couch with massive bags under his eyes. Hongjoong was determined to wait though, whether that meant interfering with his sleep.
The leader didn't want to fall asleep and risk missing a message from Wooyoung. He wanted to get it and respond immediately so that Wooyoung could rely on that form of communication.
"Hongjoong?" A voice questioned from the hallway.
Hongjoong looked up, his eyes all buggy from staring at the bright computer in the dark living room.
"Hongjoong why are you still up? Its 3am!" Finally Seonghwa appeared in Hongjoong's immediate sight.
He smiled sheepishly at the elder and watched as Seonghwa took a seat next to him.
"What on earth are you doing? You look so tired! You need to get sleep." Seonghwa gave him a stern look before softening his expression when Hongjoong laid his head on his shoulder.
"I'm waiting for Wooyoung to reply," Hongjoong replied with a small sigh.
"What? Seriously? Why on earth would you think that, that boy would be up this late?" Seonghwa asked a very valid question.
"I don't know, he could be..."
"Hongjoong..." Seonghwa spoke with his slightly stern voice.
"I know, I know... but I don't want to miss his message." Hongjoong pouted.
"You need sleep."
"I need to get this boy back."
"I get that but we need to take care of ourselves too. Just look at San for example, he's a mess and we can't do anything about it. We try and try again to get him to care for himself, but he doesn't because he's too depressed."
"B-but its all my fault... not his. I'm the one that started all this mess and... and-"
"No I'm not letting you blame yourself for all of this. You did the best you could, okay? And we all know that, even Wooyoung." Seonghwa grabbed Hongjoong's shoulders so the younger man was facing him. "I am not letting you crumble as much as San has."
"I'm sorry... I'm sorry." Hongjoong mumbled into Seonghwa's shirt, collapsing into a hug.
"No apologies, please just get some rest." Seonghwa pleaded.
"But-"
"Joong, please just sleep. I'll watch the computer... just please get some sleep." Seonghwa stated.
"Okay... I guess.." Hongjoong pulled away from Seonghwa's embrace. "Just wake me up if he does reply... I need to know," Hongjoong demanded, making the older nod.
It wasn't long until Hongjoong was finally sleeping. His head was on Seonghwa lap and the rest of his body was curled up in a ball next to them.
Seonghwa managed to move the laptop to the other side of the couch (towards Hongjoong's head), so that Hongjoong could sprawl his legs out if he wanted to. Though Seonghwa knew he most likely wouldn't.
Hongjoong loved sleeping in a curled up position, especially if Seonghwa was with him. Although Seonghwa didn't sleep with him often, he enjoyed every moment he could get with the older. The same went for Seonghwa. He felt a sense of security when he and Hongjoong cuddled or snuggled in bed together. It was a certain level of intimacy that both men couldn't get from anything else.
Although the two men weren't officially dating, they couldn't deny the connection they had. So really, they should have been dating but they both were too scared to ask. Plus, was now really the time for romantic relationships?
