"Hi pumpkin!" I smiled as I hugged my daughter Anastasia.

"Hi mom! You look beautiful"

"As do you" I smiled as she went to hug Lexi.

"Auntie Lex!"

"Hi baby!" Lexi hugged her so tight "did you get taller?!"

Anastasia laughed "no but I am wearing these boots" she showed us her boots.

"Oh those are really cute!"

We start down at a diner "mom, are you still wearing the necklace dad gave you?"

I glanced down at my chest as I grabbed my necklace "yeah, I am" I told her "I just forgot all about it"

"Why don't you just take it?" Anastasia asked me.

"Because I still believe he'll come to me" I sighed "come back to us"

"I think you should just let him go mom"

"So you don't think he's coming back?" Lexi asked her.

"No, I don't think he is, it's just better that way"

"I think he is sweetie"

"So how is school?" Lexi changed the subject.

"It's good, I'm having a blast"

"That's good Anabear" I smiled at my daughter. My phone rang "excuse me" I got up and answered.

"Elena, is everything okay?"

"Stefan... he said he's not coming back to school Alex, I was hoping you can talk to him"

"I'm actually in New York, Elena"

"Oh, are you with Lexi?"

"Yeah, but I'll talk to him okay? But I'm sure he is doing what he thinks it's right"

"But it isn't!"

"Elena I have to go" I hung up then later that night as I was with Lexi and Anastasia.

Stefan called "Stefan, what can I do for you?"

"Damon wants Katherine's necklace" he told me "the one that Emily gave her or used to belong to Emily"

"Stefan" I walked away "I know what he's trying to do"

"What do you mean?"

"He thinks Katherine is in that tomb with the other 26 vampires that should've died in 1864" I told him "she isn't in there, I know, I'm the one that saw her that night, he wants to open the tomb"

"How could you be so sure?"

"It's Damon we're talking about, we can't open that tomb Stefan"

"I know, I know.... how is New York?"

"It's a good, nice break from everything. I have to go about to watch a movie with Lexi"

"Have fun"

I smiled "have fun yourself" I smiled as I glanced at Anastasia who was looking at me.

"Who is ready for movie night?" Lexi asked us.

"I am!" I smiled as we all sat down to watch a movie. I laid in bed with Anastasia as I ran my hands through her hair.

"I remember when you were little" I told her "you used to love for me to rub your back and run my hands through your hair" I smiled "used to help you sleep"

"I still miss it sometimes" she smiled "dad used rub my back too, I miss him"

"I know you do, I miss him. I miss coming home and he'll be cooking and he will wait for me outside and have this biggest smile"
