I woke up as I saw the bed empty as I looked at the night stand to see a gift. I sat up as I grabbed the gift, there was a note. I flipped the note open as it read.

'Meant to give this to you a long time ago, this belongs with you, yours always and forever Nik'

I opened it as I saw a beautiful diamonds bracelet as I gasped. I smiled as I took it out the box and put it in my left wrist.

"Your up" I looked up at Anastasia who had a glass of blood for me "how are you feeling?"

"Better" I smiled as she handed me the glass and saw the open note, open jewelry box and the bracelet on my hand. I took a few sips of the blood as I looked at my daughter "just say whatever you want to say Ana"

"It's beautiful"

I looked at the bracelet "it's just a I saved your life, here is a bracelet" I told her.

"Hey" I looked up to see Damon at the doorway as Anastasia quickly placed the blanket over my hand, note and jewelry box "I heard what happened, you okay?"

I nodded "feeling better"

"Good, I'm sorry I wasn't here for you"

"I heard about Elena, she okay?"

"She's fine" he nodded "Stefan went a little crazy with this one"

"So I've heard" his phone rang.

"Are you really okay?"

"I'm fine, Damon, go" I nodded as he left and answered the phone as I looked at Anastasia "why did you do that?"

"I know how he feels about Klaus, wanted to save you the trouble"

"Thanks baby, it's about time I get myself together"

She nodded as I handed her my empty glass. I went to the bathroom to freshen up and showered and changed. I put the note and jewelry box in my nightstand as I looked at my daughter. Stefan seemed to be more distant from me, it's like I barely recognized him.

"Why don't we go for a run?" I smiled at her.

"A run? You okay?"

I laughed "I'm fine baby, just want to feel the wind against my hair and my body, come on"

"Alright" I laughed as we went to the woods "ready?"

"I'm ready" I smirked as we both took off running through the woods. Feeling the wind around me, hearing the birds, insects. I placed my hand on the tree stump as I tried to catch my breath.

"Out of breath mom?"

I laughed "well I am over 500 years old baby" I smiled at her "I need some blood" I told her as we went home.

I came home to music blasting and Nik on the couch.

"Nik, what are you doing here?"

"Waiting for Stefan" he got up to look at me "I see you look better"

Anastasia went downstairs to get blood bags then went upstairs to my room or our room now.

"Well I feel better" I crossed my arms as his eyes looked up and down at my body. He then stopped at my left wrist to see the bracelet.

"I see your wearing the bracelet I got you"

"Well it was so beautiful I couldn't let it rot in a jewelry box for centuries"

Nik laughed "of course not" he walked over to me as my breathing got heavier when he was in front of me.

"I-I wanted to say thank you" I mumbled "for saving my life"
