I sat with Caroline and Bonnie as we talked about the Mystic Falls Founders Day Float.

"It's exactly what we don't want to do"

"Ew" both Bonnie and I said.

"Exactly"

"So what are we doing?" Bonnie asked.

"Southern Classic Elegance"

"Gone with the wind?"

"How did you know?" Caroline asked.

"You channel Scarlett daily"

"So true" Caroline smiled.

"Yeah"

Then they moved on to talking about Elena. I sighed as I got up as I got a text from Stefan.

"Thank god" I walked into Alaric's room as Damon walked in.

"Damon, Alex, thanks for coming"

"So what is going on?" I sat down.

"Sorry I'm late, my dog ate my... nevermind" he glanced at Stefan and Elena "what's all the furrowed brows?"

"I saw Isobel last night?"

"She's in town?" I asked. Alaric nodded as Damon glanced at Elena.

"Did you ask her about John? Are they working together? No, they're not?"

"No I didn't ask"

"What about the invention?"

"Didn't ask"

"Does she know about the tomb of vampires?"

"I don't know"

"Did words completely escape you?" Damon asked Alaric.

"No, I was a little too distracted by my dead vampire wife to ask any questions"

"What did she want?" Damon looked at Elena and Alaric.

"She wants to see me, Damon" Elena answered as Damon looked at her.

"Alaric is supposed to arrange a meeting, we don't know why or what she wants" Stefan answered.

"You don't have to see her, if you don't want to," Damon told Elena. I glanced at Stefan who was looking at Damon and Elena.

"I don't really have a choice"

"She's threatened to go on a killing spree" Alaric told Damon.

"Oh, I take it that's not okay with you guys"

"Damon" I glared at him.

"I want to do it, I want to meet her. If I don't, I know I'll regret it"

Stefan went to the grill with Elena. He kept an eye on her as she met Isobel, her birth mother. As I stood outside with Damon and Alaric.

"We should be in there" Damon argued.

"It's better this way Damon" I told him.

"Isobel made it clear, we're not to step foot inside"

"I'm not going to kill her in a crowded restaurant"

"Damon, you aren't going to kill her regardless" I looked at him.

"You're not going to kill her period" Alaric told him.

"She ruined your life and you still want to protect her?"

"Damon" I glared at him "enough"

"She's my wife" Alaric answered "was-was my wife. I looked for the woman I married but she wasn't there. Whoever that is cold and detached"
