She Can't Handle It

"Mom"

"Hey sweetie, I thought you were still in bed"

"No, I went to get a job at that cute little boutique in town"

"Oh that's great sweetie!" I smiled.

"Thanks mom! I'm actually excited about it because they have so many cute clothes!"

"I love that baby" I smiled "I'll have to start doing the same, what do you think about me taking a visit to Mystic Falls?"

"Already?"

"Yeah, I miss everyone" I sighed.

"Is this about dad?"

"Apparently he and Elena broke up, I just want to make sure he's okay" I told my daughter. Anastasia glared at me "just as a friend baby" I told him "your father knows where I stand with him. I won't go to get him back, just to be there for him and Caroline and everyone else"

"Mom, you just left Mystic Falls. You can't go back now"

I sighed "I miss them sweetie"

"I know you do mom, but you need to be here" she told me "I need you here, you are finally coming back to your old self, you're happy"

I smiled as I wrapped my arms around my daughter "I love you sweetie"

"I love you too mom, but it's not time to go back yet"

I nodded "I know" I sighed "you're right, how did you get so smart?" I asked her as I cupped her face.

"I had you and dad as my parents" she smiled.

"That is my girl" I kissed her forehead "I'm going by the water" she nodded as I walked down the balcony. My feet touched the sand as I smiled as I walked closer to the water then sat down and took a deep breath. I was home here, I am home, I feel like myself again. But yet I still feel bad, feel selfish for being here. When Stefan, when everyone else is going through what they're going through.

I sat up as I dusted off the sand from my pants as I walked along the water. I looked at the water then I looked at the houses. As Caroline called me.

"Hey Care, what is going on in town?"

"Well Klaus killed Carol"

"What?!" I stopped "what, why? What happened?"

"Tyler and his hybrids were going to take him out and I guess he heard about it. Klaus killed all eleven hybrids then he went after Carol"

"Tyler, how is Tyler?" I asked him.

"He's in denial, Alex have you spoken to Stefan, or Elena or even Damon lately?"

"No, I spoke to Stefan yesterday, I haven't spoken to Elena at all and Damon for a few days. Wait, why Caroline?"

"I'm no reason, but I have to go find Rebekah so we can stake her"

"I thought she was dead"

"She was, someone took the dagger out"

I sighed "Bye Care"

"Bye Alex!" I hung up as I sighed as I went back to the house. I grabbed a blood bag as I ripped it open as I drank.

"Mom, are you okay?"

"Strongly want to rip someone's neck" I groaned.

"What happened?"

"Caroline call me, something happening but she won't tell me and I feel so fucking clueless being here"
