Let's Stay Like This Forever

I sat up in bed as I looked at Stefan, my fiancé, the love of my life, father of my children sleeping beside me. I smiled as I kissed his cheek, I pulled the quilt back as I went to the bathroom to freshen up.

"Morning mom"

"Morning baby" I smiled "dad's still sleeping so just be quiet"

Anastasia nodded "you want some blood?"

"Yeah" I nodded as we walked into the kitchen "you know I'll do it sweetheart, can you check the mail?"

"Hmm" Anastasia nodded as I heard Stefan get up so I poured three cups "mom, you got a package"

"Hmm" I sighed as Anastasia put this massive box on the countertop. I grabbed my cup of blood and walked over to it "I wasn't expecting anything"

"Who is it from?" Anastasia grabbed her cup of blood.

"Freya, Klaus's sister" I sighed as I took a sip of blood before putting my cup down as I opened the box as my eyes automatically teared up.

"What is it mom?"

I smiled "drawing, hundreds of them that Nik drew of me" I put the drawing aside on the countertop as Ana came around to look at them "his memoir, Cami was writing it for him and I guess he finished it or someone finished it for him" I put the book down next to the drawing as there were letters.

"What is that?" Ana asked me as Stefan was now in the room as I looked up at him then back down "there was a note on the box mom, it's from Freya. She says Nik would've wanted you to have these things, he told me exactly what to send to you. Love and miss you Freya"

I smiled as I grabbed the letters and held them in my hand.

"Who are the letters from?" Stefan finally asked me.

"There's one letter I gave him, it was after I turned and I was finally him, leaving Europe" I looked up to Stefan "he kept it all these years, he said it gave him hope" I looked down at the letters "the rest are, are letters he wrote to me but never sent them" I sat down on the armrest of the couch as I took a deep breath "I'm going to need a moment" I sighed as I grabbed everything and went back to my bedroom as I laid it out on the bed and sat in front of it. I took a deep breath as I cried "I miss you Nik" I sighed as I grabbed a drawing of me when Nik and I first started seeing each other, I smiled.

I looked up as the door opened and Stefan walked in "may I?"

I nodded "come sit" I padded the empty space next to me as Stefan came to sit down next to me as he grabbed the letter I wrote to Nik.

"Dear Nik,
I have no words, no words could explain how I feel at this moment. I am angry at you but I also know you are pushing me away because you're scared. Well Nik, I'm scared too, scared I'll never see you again, you'll never see me blossom as a vampire, we'll never dance together or I'll never hear that beautiful accent of yours I love so much. I took a deep breath as I looked at Stefan as he looked at me and wiped my tears.

"I'm sorry Allie" he rubbed my back.

"I know it's hard to understand but..."
