We were in the heart of the building. Six exits. All with locks. Well shit. To add onto our little situation, we had the people chasing us, and now about 6 agents standing frozen, shocked. At least Peter's vision had come back.
"Hi?" They attacked. Guess they didn't want to say hi to me.
"Ma! Do you know the codes?""Maybe one of them!" We shouted back and forth to each other. I didn't know how Ma was still holding her ground, but if she was alive, that's the only thing that mattered. I kicked and punched, trying to take everyone down, but when I turned, there was a barrel in my face.
"Don't move." He hissed. It all seemed to happen in slow motion. His finger curled on the trigger, and I closed my eyes, ready for the impact. But it never came. Slowly, I peeked, and what I saw shocked me. Ma's eyes were glowing, her hands out, and every single one of the soldiers had been shot by their own guns.
"Ma?" I stared in shock. Her eyes died down and she turned back to me and Peter, who was also frozen in surprise.
"What are you sitting there gawking about? Let's go." Um how about how you just shocked every single one of the soldiers to death? Maybe that's a good detail to share?
"But the- how- what- huh?" Peter blubbered.
"I'll explain later. Now come on!" She dragged us through the now unlocked door and we ran as fast as we could. We took out stray soldiers on the way, it was weird, usually they would be in groups.
"I repeat, all personnel outside immediately. Code... what's the code again?" These people were idiots. "You know what never mind! Avengers! Outside! Hurry!"
"Why now?!"
"Well at least they're clearing the hall for us!" Peter shouted back. We ran, and finally made it to a giant garage door, there were trucks, cars and Jeeps lining the inside of the giant room.
"Get in." Ma said, pointing to a car.
"You don't have keys." Peter stated. Then we both jumped as the locks clicked open and the engine spurred to life. Ma had to shove us in, and we took off, the garage lifting on its own. Outside was worse. There were soldiers everywhere. Nat and Steve were in front of us, Clint was most likely on the roof, seeing as there were arrows rising down from the sky, Tony was flying back and forth, and lighting was smashing everything to bits. The work of Thor. Wanda and Pietro had even come along, and judging by them getting yelled at by Nat, it was a surprise appearance. Hulk had come out, which I found surprising, and Loki was a blur. The scene was beautiful and deadly at the same time. We skidded to a stop, after plotting over some agents, doing a nice drift, and got out of the car. Peter went to battle immediately. Nat got thrown in front of us and I helped her up.
"Amelia?"
"Surprise."
"How'd you get out?" She asked, eyeing Ma.
"That's for later. Nat this is Ma, Ma this is Nat. Don't worry you can trust her." Nat ran her eyes over Ma warily.
"Fine." Was all she said and then she jumped back into battle.
"You ready?" Ma asked me.
"Are you?" She smiled.
"I'm more than ready."
"Let's go then." And we both jumped into battle. I made sure to stay by her, just in case something happened. But I had no reason to worry. I now figured out what had happened. She was a Technopath, able to control technology with her mind. Every single person she faced went down by their own gun. I fought my own battles. A sword in hand, blinking in and out of camo, and knocking people out. The soldiers were still coming in waves, they must have called reinforcements. I passed Nat and she handed me a comm. I stuck it in my ear and listened on the conversation.
"Leave or fight? There's a lot of them, and I have a feeling they'll just keep coming." Pietro said.
"I think leave."
"Amelia!"
"When did you get here?"
"Just now. And besides, we can stick some trackers on them or something, then we can see where they all are."
"But what's the point if we can defeat them now?" Steve asked.
"Can we? I mean look at all of them. There's thousands and I have a feeling they'll just keep coming."
"She's right." I guess Ma had her own comm now, or was just messing with someone else's.
"Who are you?"
"We have time for that later, Ma what are you saying?"
"They have thousands of soldiers. Your mission was to save Amelia, and you did. You're all tired, and they'll keep coming for awhile. Her plan is good, put some trackers where they won't see them, and you've got yourself the location of some of their bases."
"Ok we still need to have this talk on who you are, but I agree. Seems like good logic to me." Tony added. Almost everyone agreed. But Steve, being the soldier he was, didn't want to back down.
"How do we know they won't find the trackers? Then they'll come. And besides, they'll have more time to regroup."
"Steve. Please, just listen. If we have more time, we can get lots more people, and if we know the location of their bases, we can take them out one by one, quietly. If we keep fighting now, there is a chance we'll win, but it will be chaos." He sighed.
"Fine. We'll do it."
"Alright everyone, I've got trackers, put them on agents, cars, weapons, anything that's I'll hold one." Tony flew past and handed out the trackers, and immediately ran to the garage. When I arrived, I skidded to a stop. In front of me were 5 soldiers, decked out with guns, tasers and who knows what else. I recognized one of them, the one who usually tortured me. He smiled at me evilly.
"Ready to die Acquire?"
"Not today." And I attacked.
