"Ok how did you just break that couch?!" Clint announced.
"Um so, I might have superpowers. I'm not really sure."
"Might? You just broke our couch! I'd say you definitely do." Tony said.
"Yeah sorry about that."
"Whatever I'll just buy a new one."
"Ok so what are we going to do about this?" Bruce asked.
"We'll run some tests, figure out what they are, and then train her. Of course she'll need a leg first." Tony said.
"How am I going to get a leg?" I asked.
"That's up to me." Tony said smiling. He took me to his lab. He sat me down and started to tinker.
"So you're going to build me a leg?"
"Yep."
"Alright." He got the measurements of my legs and got to work. It was a little boring, but I sustained myself. There was a target on one wall, and I saw some sort of gun on the table. I picked it up and ran my hands along it. I pointed it at the target.
"I wouldn't shoot that if I were you." A voice said from behind me.
"And why not?" I asked, not turning around. A boy came into my vision.
"It's a super powerful gamma ray gun. It has a super huge knock back." He said nervously. I cocked my head at him. He had curly brown hair, and big brown eyes.
"Who says I can't?" And then thanks to my stupid brain, I shot the gun at the target. This was going to be bad. BAM! That was one hell of a kickback, but somehow I stayed rooted in my seat. And on the far wall, the target was destroyed. The kids mouth was hanging open and Tony rushed toward us.
"Where the hell did you learn to shoot like that?"
"I have no idea. I swear I've never held a gun before in my life." They both looked sceptical.
"Anyways, who are you?" I asked, trying to change the subject.
"Oh my names Peter. Peter Parker." He stuck out his hand. I shook it.
"Cami."
"And why are you here?" I explained everything. "Oh, well sorry. And what are your powers?"
"I'm not exactly sure. I think I have super strength, and I also have camouflage. But we have to do tests."
"Hey Pete come here." Tony called. "Can you help me with this?"
"Yeah." They started working again, and I was bored out of my mind. So I got up and went back to the common on area. Nat was there.
"Hey Cami."
"Hey."
"Was he too boring for you?"
"Yeah. And then a kid named Peter came, so then I got restless."
"Oh Peter's here!" I frowned at her. "Peter's kind of like our kid."
"Oh. Hey Nat?"
"Yeah?"
"Can we go to the park?"
"Sure. Let's go. They should almost be done the leg when we get back." We got out of the tower and we borrowed one of Tony's cars. We got to the park quickly and I hobbled as fast as I could to the pond. I put my remaining foot in the water and all of the ducks came over.
"Hello guys. Sorry I haven't been here, there was an accident. But I remembered food this time." I threw in a few crackers. Then Verde came up to me.
"Hello Verde." He sat himself on my lap and I pet his head.
"Who's this?" Nat asked.
"This is Verde." She took one look at him and said,
"No it's not." Her voice was low and serious.
"What's do you mean? He's just a duck Nat."
"No it's not. Cami, get away from the duck."
"Nat. It's a duck. What is it going to do? Honk at me?" She pulled me away despite my arguments. Verde didn't move. He just looked up at me.
"Loki. Show yourself."
"Loki? Nat are you out of your mind? That's a duck." She didn't answer me, she just kept glaring at Verde. Then suddenly there was a green flash, and in the place of Verde, there was Loki. My jaw dropped.
"So nice to finally meet you Chameleon."
"Woah. So you've just been undercover as a duck this whole time?"
"Yes. You were the first person who was actually nice to me. So thank you."
"Well you were nice to me too." I saw Nat pulling out a gun. "Nat. It's fine."
"He's a criminal."
"Not now he's not. Please, just give him a chance." I begged. "The attack was what, 3 years ago? He's changed."
"Fine. Everybody else is going to be harder to convince." I nodded, very well aware of that fact.
"C'mon Loki let's go." I grabbed his hand and we went back to the car. Nat drove us home and we got in the elevator. It opened and I hobbled out, dragging Loki with me. We arrived at the common area and I stopped.
"Wait who's this?" I asked pointing at a big man in armor.
"My brother, Thor." Loki whispered. That's when they noticed.
"Cami get away from him!"
"Loki!"
"What's he doing here?!"
"Get him out!"
"SHUT UP!" I shouted over all the chaos. They all fell silent. "Now, do you know what Loki had been doing the past two years?" They were all silent. "He was hiding as an animal and he was one of the things that made me feel safe. He helped me, and if you're kicking him out, I'm going too." Clint's mouth flapped like a fish and everyone else was in shock.
"He can stay." Peter said. He came up and smiled at Loki. "Hi! I'm Peter!" He said.
"Loki." There was a lot of grumbling, but everyone agreed he could stay.
"Hey Cami, your leg is ready." Tony said. He pulled out a case and set it in front of me. My hands shook as I opened the clips. I lifted the lid and looked at the leg for the first time. It looked a lot like Bucky's arm. Made of metal and it looked beautiful.
"You want to put it on?" Nat asked. I nodded, and picked the leg up. It was light, almost like it weighed nothing. I slipped it on my nub, it fit perfectly. It was unreal. It felt just like my other leg, completely real. I sat on the couch marveling at the metal leg. A happy tear ran down my cheek.
