Since no one commented about what they wanted, (it's fine I'll just make my indecisive self choose), I'm just gonna make them kind of brother, sister figures. Anyways, I hope you're enjoying!
-AbbyMy eyes slowly opened to the bright sunlight coming through the window. I laid, staring at the ceiling as the memories came flooding back. Tears pricked into my eyes and I curled up into a ball, trying to block out the thoughts.
"Hey hey. Shh it's ok." Peters voice came wafting into my ears, calming me. I sat there for awhile, and looked up at him.
"Thanks." I said quietly.
"Of course little sis." That made me smile a little. "You think you're ready to see everyone?"
"Yeah. I think so."
"Alright. Don't worry, I'll be there." He left to let me get changed. I slipped into some comfy clothes, and took a deep breath with my hand on the doorknob. I can do this. I turned the knob slowly and crept out of my room. My footsteps were quiet, and I was able to get to the doorway without anyone realizing I was coming. I stood in the doorway, debating if I should even go in, when Nat saw me. She got up, and walked over to me.
"Good morning. How are you feeling?"
"Ok I guess." I answered quietly.
"Why don't you come inside, and I'll make sure they don't bombard you with questions." I nodded slowly, and gripped Nat's hand as I walked inside. When people saw me, I could tell they wanted to get answers, but they stayed their distance, calling out good mornings. I sat quietly on the couch, and Steve came up to me.
"Do you want something to eat?"
"No thanks." He looked at me, questioning if I was sure, but I shook my head. I sat in silence, staring at the wall, until a voice broke me out of my thoughts.
"Good sleep last night?" I looked over at Tony, a sly smirk on his face.
"Yes? Why?"
"Well I wanted to see how you and Peter were doing, you know since I didn't see him come out, and I saw you."
"Mmhm and what's wrong with that?"
"Hold on I'm confused, what happened?" Steve asked, hopelessly oblivious. Nat smirked, of course she knew what Tony was getting at. Bruce was equally as confused, Clint had probably seen from the vents or heard from Nat, Thor didn't care, and was happily munching on his pop tarts, and Loki was smirking. Meanwhile Peter was sitting on the other end of the room, looking a little embarrassed but like he was trying not to laugh.
"I found Amelia and Peter snuggled up in her bed last night." I held back a smile, knowing what he was thinking. Steve paled, Nat and Loki were smirking, they probably both knew that Tony was wrong. Bruce looked shocked, and Clint tried to hide his surprise. I glanced at Peter, trying not to laugh, and I could see him doing the same. And then we both cracked. We burst out laughing.
"Wait what?" Everyone looked confused, excluding Nat and Loki.
"I- we- you thought-" I couldn't form words because I was laughing so hard.
"Could someone tell me what's happening?" Tony exclaimed. I gasped for breath, and I looked over at Peter, which started another laughing fit.
"You think they like each other." And with that me and Peter burst out laughing again, harder than before.
"What's the other explanation?!" I caught my breath before saying.
"No no no! He was just comforting me. I was remembering what-" and with that, the nice moment was interrupted. Everyone fell to uncomfortable silence.
"This might not be the best time," Tony stated, "but what happened out there?" I didn't look at him, but I could feel his eyes, everyone's eyes, on me. Steve and Nat knew what had happened, and now so did Peter. I looked up at him, and he caught my eyes. I gave him a little nod and he spoke up.
"Do you all know who Ma is?" There were some yes's and some no's.
"Well she took care of Mia and helped us fight and escape. They were on their way to the jet when Ma felt an airstrike coming in.""But how?" Tony interrupted.
"She was a technopath, she had the ability to control technology. Plus I think she had force fields. But anyways, she felt an airstrike coming, so she turned back. Mia tried to stop her but she refused. Then she stopped the rocket and made a shield around it, but for it to work, she had to be close. So... she did and led it away, but uh, she didn't make it." His voice got quieter toward the end. I could feel the tears coming but I didn't want to cry. I fought them back, my eyes burning. I felt arms around me and I looked up to see Nat. I melted into the hug, and soon everyone gathered around, muttering sweet things and hugging me.
"What is happening? When did the Avengers go soft?" I looked up to see Nick in the doorway. We all glared at him.
"Well I didn't want to interrupt the touching moment, but I do have to know what happened." Peter slowly explained again, from the beginning, and I could see Nick's eye soften."I'm sorry." Then he half smiled at me, I gave him one back and looked down again. Then he exited, and Tony burst out,
"Ok he must really love you."
"Why?"
"Well he actually smiled at you, and he didn't shout at you, which is impressive."
"Well thanks I guess?" I curled myself up on the couch, snuggled in blankets, and then my stomach rumbled.
"Breakfast?" Steve asked again.
"Just a little please." He set a couple pieces of toast in front of me and I took small bites. The tv flicked on and I felt someone settle beside me. I looked to see Peter and he set his arm around me. I hugged him back, and leaned on him, trying to enjoy the moment.
