So I'm trying to make this around 30 chapters, but seeing as this is chapter 29 and we're not done fighting yet, it may be a little longer. 35-37? Maybe? Idk yet.
Also, you guys are so not ready for what's about to go down. Good luck.

I took a shaky breath as I stood up with the help of Nat. I could feel everyone's eyes on me. I tried and failed to get what I had done out of my head. Attempting to shake my thoughts out of my head, I listened as Nat called me.

"So what should our game plan be?"

"I think we just try to get to the jet." I hated how my voice shook.
Everyone finished with the trackers right?" They immediately all nodded.
"Good. Try to sneak past, we'll take out stragglers but try to stay hidden. Take a partner, or go in groups of three. Everyone ready?" They all agreed.
"Let's go." Nat ended up being my partner, and we were about to leave until I noticed Ma.

"Ma. Come on." She looked at me sadly.

"I can't."

"What do you mean you can't?"

"Amelia. I need to stay here. I"

"What? Stay here with Hydra? Are you insane! They're going to kill you." She muttered something under her breath that I couldn't hear.

"Amelia-"

"Ma. Please. You saved me. I can't just leave you here." I pleaded with her, she couldn't just give up. Her eyes were filled with pain, I didn't know why, but I couldn't leave her. She looked at me and I could feel tears on the brink of collapsing.

"I- ok." She said quietly. I sighed in relief, and hugged her tightly, not wanting to let go.

"Alright." She said softly. "We need to go." I slowly unbound my arms from her and blew a breath out, getting ready for the way back. We stayed close together, watching out for anything that would make a loud sound. It was so quiet that I could hear my heart pound in my ears. Nat held out a hand to stop us.

"Soldier." I looked ahead and saw two strays searching the forest. Nat was about to get up but Ma interrupted.

"No. I've got it." She focused on the men, and her eyes glowed. Suddenly, the men fell silently to the ground, electricity shocking them.

"Nice job." Nat complimented her. She just shrugged and we carried on, even more wary of our situation. We travelled further into the brush, trying to stay away from soldiers. It was going well so far. But of course, everyone had caught on, and they were now searching the forest and surrounding area to find us.

"Be careful. This mountain is now crawling with soldiers." Nat warned. We crept through the dark woods, a light breeze making me shiver. I had a bad feeling about this. We kept going, until a loud snap! was heard. We all froze, and I looked down to my foot, where a brittle stick had snapped.

"Get down." Ma hissed as she shoved my head down to the floor, Nat dropping with her. Bullets shot over our heads. I didn't have time to apologize.

"Do you think it's them?"

"Could be a squirrel or something."

"A squirrel? Making that sound? No way."

"A moose then."

"A moose? You've lost your mind!"

"It's Canada, I've heard they have meese."

"The plural is moose idiot. Now come on, we have to check it out." There were rustling leaves from our right.

"What's the plan?" I whispered as quietly as I could.

"Stay back for now. Ma?" Nat muttered.

"I can take out a couple, but we have to bring them further in. Just in case." They nodded to each other and sprang up before I could argue. I huffed and stayed low, camouflaged, watching from my hiding spot. I heard another crack as Nat broke a stick to lure them in.
